The only thing gayer than the Paradise video is the song itself (as well as anyone who gets butthurt by me calling the song/video gay).

Isn't Florence Welch the ultimate gay icon though?

When it isn't tacky as fuck and has some kind of broader, better-fitting meaning. If it's artistic, then the message is captured well.

If it's outright humorous, it's clearly done well.

Maybe it could feature the artist singing/performing.

Or it could be para-para-parasite.

Pretty sure that's either Los Campesinos or Of Montreal. Or Lady Gaga.

Just type "video" on youtube, and you'll probably get a better video then paradise.

And yes. of Montreal is fantastic live.

Is this artistic enough to be considered a good music video? ENLIGHTEN ME.

I disagree that it has to have a broader, better-fitting meaning to make a good video. Why can't it just have elephants riding a unicycle?

oh my aching everything, Devendra Banhart :awesome: that's probably artistic humor or something, it works.

on that note: WEEEEE CEEERTAINLYYY AHHHH NIIICE PEEEOEPLELAAHAHHAHHHAHAHHHHHHHHAHADDKLHFHRKEL:hfLFH :awesome: :dazzled: :cheesy:

You just know when it does/not work. If anything, they're choking the audience with a message in the video. I don't generally like that, especially with something as cheesy as Chris in an elephant costume. They should have just done something with graffiti like ETIAW already.

So replicating the last video is a better plan? And ETIAW is a good video then?

Are you all judging based on the leaked album? Or am I really confused with the date here...

Anyways, I haven't listened to the leaks yet.

Yep the leaked album cause it's the same album as the album that's gonna be on the CD.

ETIAW is far better than Paradise. It's happy, uplifting, general, features the band, lots of bright vibrant paints, no elephants... Yeah, if they just made ETIAW video again then I wouldn't mind.

If I had uploaded a video of me riding a unicycle in an elephant costume, would people still be giving comments like: "this is genius" or "this is innovative"?

Exactly. You'd wind up on Tosh.O instead. :laugh3:

Coldplay has done plenty of fun videos in the past that happened to be quirky and silly while also remaining good videos. Life in Technicolor 2 is a great example. This...not so much.

I almost feel like they thought "What's the most random thing we can do for this video?", came up with ELEPHANTS ON UNICYCLES and then said "WOW WHAT A GENIUS IDEA.".

...Say what now?

If I were a woman, I would go lesbian for Florence Welch.

Thankfully I'm a man instead.

Thankfully, it's not as much of a disappointment as the Radiohead album earlier this year.

I've listened to it a few more times and am really liking the more upbeat songs the most, including Princess of China and Charlie Brown and even Paradise seems to find its place. I enjoyed the song from the beginning though, and it seems to be one of the better stuff they've done recently and combined with the new video it's a nice addition to the Coldplay discography.

TKOL was definitely a big disappointment. However as time has progressed and seeing the songs live I have more of an appreciation and enjoy the album more. I mean it's nowhere as good as IR or OKC or Kid A, but it's still enjoy able.

I think that music video may be the dumbest video i've ever seen.

Although I would never go lesbo for anyone, Flo gets pretty close to that line for me.

WAIT WHAT?! Radiohead released an album this year?!?!

Not only is it inappropriate, it's pretty meaningless in this context. Also, how is "gay" steamy and sexy?

If you and another man were doing it, it would be gay and I would think... and I think I speak for many gay men ... we would think it's "steamy and sexy"

This is artistic because it has Devendra's gorgeous self in it
