9. AHT + DLIBYH combined

I left off Paradise cause I love the transition of HLH to CB.

I left off Princess of China cause its the worst song on the album

I left off Up In Flames cause it's a mood killer (though i do like the song)

The easiest decision was keeping UWTB the closer. It's the best off the album.

i agree mostly with yours. though i've changed one or two things:

1. Mylo Xyloto

2. Hurts Like Heaven

3. Charlie Brown

4. Us Against The World

5. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

6. Major Minus

7. UFO

8. Up in Flames

9. A Hopeful Transmission

10. Don't Let It Break Your Heart

11. Up With The Birds

I left off Paradise well....because i don't like it though the it does fit in with the concept

I left off POC because i think it feels a bit out of place though i like the song

Lastly i took out MMIX because i feel it isn't really needed whereas AHT really builds up DLIBYH in a good way

This is obviously what i think is the 'perfect' tracklisting. I think this is the their best album ever though.

You have to keep MMIX if ETIAW follows UATW cause the transition doesnt work

I would have combined Mylo with HLH too but then that would defeat the purpose of calling the album Mylo Xyloto... Call it UWTB I guess lol.

Obviously this album was constructed well story wise! I bet the band put a lot of work into fitting songs into a story.

I really don't understand the original track list ; with this one it would be perfect to me. But I'll just trust them on this and see if I get it some day...

I would probably just merge all the interludes with their appropriate song.

1. Hurts Like Heaven (+MX)

2. Paradise

3. Charlie Brown

4. Major Minus

5. Us Against The World

6. Princess of China

7. Don't Let It Break Your Heart (simpler production!!!!!) (+shorter intro)

8. U.F.O

9. Up In Flames

9. Every Tear Is A Waterfall (+MMIX)

11. Up With The Birds

I REALLY like how perfectly MM fits right after Charlie Brown. Placed this way it really brights, but not as it's placed in the album... And ETIAW for the ending - so epic.

I'm glad the interludes/build ups are separate tracks because when there's only time to listen to a few songs, a 10 minute drive or something, the last thing you want is a minute of instrumental build up.

Overall I'd say it's good enough as it is although Moving to Mars fits quite well on the end.

Everything should be kept the same, cept for the addition of Moving to Mars in between Up in Flames and A Hopeful Transmission.

Not really a revised tracklist but I've found this fits quite well as an alternate view of the album:

1. A Hopeful Transmission

2. Don't Let It Break Your Heart

3. Up With The Birds

4. Moving to Mars

5. MX

6. Hurts Like Heaven

7. Charlie Brown

8. Us Against The World

9. UFO

10. Up In Flames

11. MMIX

12. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

13. Paradise

Major Minus doesn't really work for me and neither does Princess of China so I've left these out. I also think it works really well because you've got a powerful start with DLIBYH then it relaxes more before bursting out with HLH and CB. The three more acoustic based tracks flow well together before my take of the album bursts back to life with ETIAW and Paradise.

Try it :D

I haven't heard the album yet, but so far I have no doubt it's HLH and CB Live for the studio versions (some editing will be needed no doubt for the transitions) plus add in Moving to Mars :)

Quite possibly remove Major Minus as well - I don't care how well it fits thematically, I just don't like it.

Haha yeah... I felt liking tearing myself a new one after I typed it, just felt like being a smart ass. Honestly though I wouldn't touch the track order.

Oh also I did the same kind of thing with Viva la Vida a while ago which I've just found. More like a revised edition with all b-sides and IMO flows way better than the actual album itself. There is a deliberate gap between 42 and Rainy Day as I feel 42 could well be a perfect cut off but Rainy Day just brings it back for the extended edition if you like.

But all you people are talking about car kids as a bautiful song, but i never heard a coldplay song titled that way! It was supposed to be in MX, but they didn't do it! I'm curious to listen to this song cause everybody says it's their best song ever!

HOLY CAR KIDS!!! he he he :laugh3:

I have only listened a couple times because I want to wait for the physical copy to play it ALL THE TIME...but my first impression was if there was some minor tweaking in the track listing, this could have been flawless. It should have been shorter. MX is the only instrumental track I would have kept. If the others would be necessary I'd cut them way down in time (I know they're short already) and just attach them onto the next track as a longer intro. I'd take out at least one track (as of now I'm thinking Major Minus).

I think the album was thisclose to reaching "masterpiece" territory, but it's not because of more than a few minor (though noticable) tracking issues.

3. paradise (fine,let it be!)

Up in flames is the most boring song ever, and I can't stand A hopeful transmission so... Yeah.

1. Mylo Xyloto

2. Hurts Like Heaven

3. Charlie Brown (though I call it Cartoon Hearts, cus I prefer that name. I put it here cus it keeps up the momentum from HLH, which I thought Paradise interrupted)

4. Paradise

5. Us Against the World

6. Major Minus

7. M.M.I.X.

8. Every Teardrop is a Waterfall (now it's literally the centerpiece)

9. U.F.O.

10. Princess of China

11. Up in Flames

12. Moving to Mars (Fits so well here, one last dose of melancholy before the album's resolution, and the quiet at the end goes into AHT much better than UiF's abrupt ending did)

13. A Hopeful Transmission

14. Don't Let it Break Your Heart

15. Up With the Birds
