Featured Replies

i think that at the first part of the song "Grenade" the piano sounds like Clocks

what do you think?

At first I was like : WTF you're crazy. But when you listen.... and pay attention.... it's similar. I don't think it's meant to be though.

David Guetta also :

Wow! thats right!

but the second song it doesnt sound so similar

When I first heard the song "when love takes over" I was like: heeeey, wait a second, we've got something absolutely coldplayish there! I can't deny it's way too similar. But, after all Coldplay has passed, I don't even like to think of such things :\

I had never really payed attention to the piano of Grenade, but it does sound a bit like clocks as well :) And, OMG, the same for David Guetta and Usher at 3:16! :freak:

Yeah I always thought grenade had that feel, and that David Guetta should be sued. No talent there.

David Guetta, wow it's the SAME. It's ridiculous

Whoaa it's crazy ! I have never note !

David Guetta also :

When I first listened to this I even thought that he had asked permission since it's so obvious!!!! You don't even need to be thinking about Clocks. About the other videos we can only speculate.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

DON'T SAY NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOO JUST SAY YAH YAH YAH YAH YAHHHHHHH

Since I first heard that song, I heard "Clocks". I was wondering when this would be brought up.

Whoaa it's crazy ! I have never note !

David Guetta also :

I always thought they had permission to sample Clocks, I immediately thought of it when I first heard it too. :\

It's mentioned in Wikipedia too :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/When_Love_Takes_Over

David Guetta is shit anyway.

hate to break it to you guys but Coldplay did not invent arpeggios

I am agree but they have created some melody !

hate to break it to you guys but Coldplay did not invent arpeggios

This.

I heavily doubt David Guetta knows what arpeggios are!

I think it sounds way to much like clocks to be just the same chord structure....

David Gueta commented once about this song ( when love takes over ) and said that Coldplay was one of his musical influences, and the music was actually inspired on clocks xP

hate to break it to you guys but Coldplay did not invent arpeggios

Obviously.

HAHAHHAHAHA Ive been telling all my friends when Grenade was constantly on radio that he stole a Coldplay song. And that if it was Coldplay who did this, everybody would call them thieves (even when they legally sample a song) But Bruno Mars is cool so nobody says shit.

Remember when ETIAW was out, all the critics were focusing that it was a sample instead of focusing on all the elements of the song.
