Boards of Canada

Featured Replies

everybody should listen to these guys. that's all i have to say. i have no idea why i'm starting this thread because nobody is going to go listen to them just because i told them to, and if you already listen to them, i'm wasting your time.

i have already listened to them since they first came out. but a good way to get into them is music has a right to children. that is their best album and first one

this will be quite a bump (almost 7 years ago...wow!)

anyway, gotta love Boards of Canada. Music Has the Right to Children is a great album, especially the songs Happy Cycling, Aquarius, Olsen. I've listened to "The Campfire Headphase" as well, but not as much as Music has the Right To Children

I'm laughing too much inside my head to answer that. Please try again later.

I have Music Has the Right to Children but still need to get into it.

I got into them through the song Dayvan Cowboy (like a n00b) ages ago though.

music...children is the most accessible, but I think geogaddi is a much more interesting/better album.

I haven't listened to Geogaddi yet

neither have I.

i liked MHTRTC though.

Watch: Boards of Canada Debut a New Song in Detroit

Boards of Canada have already dropped an official hint that we can expect something from them at 5 p.m. PDT today-- but in the meantime, the duo appeared to premiere a new song at Detroit's Movement Electronic Music Festival last night. Just before Squarepusher took to the stage, a song that 2020k suggests is called "Cold Earth" was broadcast over the soundsystem, with accompanying pink visuals.

Crazy, I was walking behind the stage and didn't even realize what it was. Maybe I should give them a listen...

Secret listening party in abandoned water park right now!!!

Gemini is such a great opening track :bomb:

Serious stuff. Happy with it. Wonder if there'll be any songs that are close to singles, like 1969.

Boards of Canada Will Live Stream Tomorrow's Harvest This Monday

Clear your schedules: This coming Monday, Boards of Canada will be streaming the entirety of their new album, Tomorrow's Harvest, in a series of Live Album Transmissions. Although the details so far are scant (what did you expect?), it looks like you'll be able to hear it just once through at specified times: 1 p.m. PST, 4 p.m. EST, 9 p.m. GMT, 10 p.m. CET, and 5 a.m. JST (on June 4), most likely through boardsofcanada.com.

10th June is when it's released here, I didn't see anything about a vinyl just CD and Digital (I don't think we can assume that means vinyl too actually I'm pretty sure it doesn't so there must be a delay).
