Boykott gegen Coldplay

Translation (that was a hard one :dizzy:):

Call for Coldplay Boycott

The "German Journalistic Association" (DJV) has called on photo journalists not to report on concerts of the British band Coldplay.

In their view the band's accreditation requirements do not allow a free and unimpended coverage. For example the Coldplay management requires photographers to publish footage only in a perdifined medium and to make their footage available to Coldplay for free worldwide publication.

"That's an extreme infringement of the copyright law", critizises DJV chairman Michael Konken: "The photo journalists should not put up with that. Photographers aren't cheap suppliers for international pop stars."

During their German tour Coldplay performs today in Munich, Friday in Leipzig and on September 22nd in Hanover.

Regarding their Munich concert, the Bavarian Journalistic Association had already called for a media boycott earlier.

I read about that problem with the copyright issues in the WAZ (German newspaper from the west) when there was a review of the Cologne concert. I believe this is not Coldplay's fault, still it sucks for the photographers..:\

'Cheap suppliers for the international pop stars'. That's a good one. I hardly think Coldplay need the photographers' charity, and as it's well known they're filming and releasing footage from the tour, they have every right to protect their image and demand access to its use.

2 cents worth over,lol.
