Honestly, I think it's terrible, and not just because Coldplay was excluded (though that's a big reason). Also missing are "Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds", "Suck It And See" by The Arctic Monkeys, "Different Gear Still Speeding" - Beady Eye, "Torches" - Foster The People, etc. I was glad to see Helplessness Blues on ther, El Camino, and Wasting Light on there, but as someone owning all of Radiohead's albums, I can say I do not think The King of Limbs is worthy of a #5 spot. Does anybody know how they do this list. If they do it by what score they give the album when it comes out it might make more sense, as they've been known to be hard on Coldplay and Oasis in the past, but I am still very disappointed in this list!!:veryangry2:

 

I'm sure you all have your own opinions though, and feel free to post them, just don't bash mine.:)

I actually think that album won't be remembered along with many others on the list, that's my biggest problem with it. Back in the ninetys Aaron Carter was huge (just one of many top 40 hitmakers back then), but does anyone actual know the name of one of his albums (without looking it up). I honestly think Lady GaGa willend up like him. Just my opinion though. Are you also saying that MX will not be remembered, because in my opinion it has much better staying power.

The only thing I'd say they are "missing" is Burst Apart by The Antlers. That album has got to seem great even objectively. It's gotten overlooked too often this year.

 

And it's rather laughable that 21 would be the #1 album, especially when there are plenty of really good pop albums they could have chosen instead.

 

But anyways, I don't invest much time at all things like this. Most of the time I disagree with almost everything music journalists say.

Adele earned her spot. Her album is amazing. Lady Gaga's album was so disappointing. I only like hair, the edge of glory, and you and I.

James Blake isn't on it, so this list is completely moot.

 

Joking aside, there are things that I like and don't like about it. I like that there are certain albums ranked higher than I thought they would be (e.g. tUnE-yArDs), but I don't like the exclusion of other great albums (e.g. James Blake) or the higher-than-it-deserves rankings for some that are on the list (Radiohead at #5? REALLY?)

 

Oh, I just realized "Angles" by The Strokes isn't on this list either. WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE?

Angles, Suck it and See, Ceremonials should have been much higher, I would have thought Coldplay would be on it, and maybe even White Lies or The Vaccines....RHCP weren't even there

OH SNAP, THAT'S RIGHT. They left off The Vaccines and Elbow, too. (To be fair, BARB isn't as good as TSSK, but it still deserves a spot.)

 

The more I realize what's not on this list, the more I dislike it.

I like the list, but I will never understand the obsession with Adele, and I think Coldplay deserves at least number 50 or something /fanboy

OH. Can I mention how stupid I think it is that Cage the Elephant are even on this list, let alone ranked so high? "Thank You Happy Birthday" is not a good album at all. "Indy Kidz" has got to be one of the most annoying songs I've heard in recent times.

I think a big problem with this list is, while alot of "more unheard of" bands made this list, which is good, they ended out leaving alot of more popular musicians. Some of these artists I've never even heard of, they may be very good, but theres so much good stuff missing because of that.
