All pretty and wonderful and Cumberbatchian. *Sniffles* So pwoud. Getting series 1 and 2 on Monday, I don't think I will do anything productive afterwards. Which doesn't bode well as I have interview on Thursday :|
January 20, 201214 yr Well, I guess I've been converted. I've just bought Absolution from iTunes :laugh3: And to think, a few months ago I was promising myself I would never listen to Muse

Any favorite tracks from your first listen(s)? my favourites so far I guess have been basically all the singles  but I think Apocalypse Please is definitely a standout track (it sort of reminds me of Politik :awesome:) I haven't really heard the rest of them enough times to pick out favourites :)

I love Apocalypse Please as well. :wacky: Personally, I think I'd have to say Blackout is my favorite :nice:
January 21, 201214 yr Ooh. YES. "Blackout". Love that song. Love it, love it, love it. Favorite Muse song. my favourites so far I guess have been basically all the singles  but I think Apocalypse Please is definitely a standout track (it sort of reminds me of Politik :awesome:) I haven't really heard the rest of them enough times to pick out favourites :) It does sound a bit "Politik"-ish, yeah. Only significantly darker :p. Great song, though, yes. "Stockholm Syndrome" and "Sing For Absolution" are a couple more of my personal favorites. The former is what I think a comet hurtling towards Earth would sound like, and the latter is just so incredibly beautiful. I seriously could go on for hours with this album, I really could.
January 21, 201214 yr ^Glad you liked Absolution! I love Apocalypse Please as well. :wacky: Personally, I think I'd have to say Blackout is my favorite :nice: update: I think my favourite now is Hysteria :awesome: and I also now love Fury and Stockholm Syndrome :wacky:
January 21, 201214 yr update: I think my favourite now is Hysteria :awesome: and I also now love Fury and Stockholm Syndrome :wacky: Fury
January 21, 201214 yr It's odd because I rarely listen to Fury but at the same time I think it's absolutely fantastic.
January 22, 201214 yr I'm just gonna leave this here. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AtRJSHm6Q.I19bAwKT_x0Kbx5nNG;_ylv=3?qid=20120122110826AAd0n0Y
January 22, 201214 yr It's odd because I rarely listen to Fury but at the same time I think it's absolutely fantastic. I personally think that fury's better live than the studio version. January 22, 201214 yr I personally think that fury's better live than the studio version. Muse - Fury Montreux 2002 - YouTube The same can be said about many songs. For instance I just found this today: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wV9_je85DE&ob=av2e]Muse - Stockholm Syndrome [Live From Wembley Stadium] - YouTube[/ame] :shocked2: :dead: embedding disabled on request nooooooooo :(
January 22, 201214 yr Most Muse songs are better live, in my opinion. I think this is one of Muse's best live performances [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1qomAni9tA]Muse - Stockholm Syndrome Live Earls Court 2004 - YouTube[/ame] Just so epic.
January 22, 201214 yr Earls Court was probably one, if not the best gig they've ever done, TSP was amazing
January 23, 201214 yr I think Muse would have a lot more of those "incredible gigs" if they'd just vary the setlist a bit more. :|
January 23, 201214 yr Hello, my lovely Musers. I haven't posted here in a while, so I thought I'd drop by and say hello. What have I missed?
January 23, 201214 yr Hi :). Hm. Well, we've had discussion of when the band's new album will be out (later this year, apparently), and whether or not Matt and Chris are going to be in a "see how many children we can have" competition :p. And that's pretty much been the big stuff, really, that I can think of. I think Muse would have a lot more of those "incredible gigs" if they'd just vary the setlist a bit more. :| Heh, yeah, that's a common complaint. Eh, well. While I definitely agree it'd be great to mix up setlists and such, at the same time, there's probably all sorts of reasons why they don't/can't, so...*Shrugs*. Loved that performance of "Fury", absolutely killer job. At times the music actually kinda freaked me out, 'cause it sounded downright menacing, like some serious you-know-what was about to go down. And of course, it's always fun to watch Matt hop around like a demented kangaroo :D. I think I've yet to hear a performance of "Stockholm Syndrome" that's been anything less than stellar. For my money, though, this is my favorite live performance of the song, and perhaps my favorite live Muse performance, period. No matter how many times I see this, I'm still in total amazement by the end: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLsFL03Le3w&feature=fvst]Muse - Stockholm Syndrome (Live @ Glastonbury 2004) - YouTube[/ame]
January 23, 201214 yr The setlist's are defiantly not as good as they used to be-If they just swapped Guiding Light for something like Fury or Hyper Music people probably wouldn't moan as much :\ [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukw5XLE5ovA&feature=related]Muse - Hyper Music live @ Leeds University 2001 - YouTube[/ame] :awesome:
January 23, 201214 yr ...I like "Guiding Light". It would be cool to hear "Hyper Music", though, yes. Don't know if us Americans will be likely to hear "Fury", though, as that track wasn't on our copies of Absolution over here. Where in the world they're playing also likely factors into their decisions on what to play.
January 24, 201214 yr Hello, my lovely Musers. I haven't posted here in a while, so I thought I'd drop by and say hello. What have I missed? hey Violet! Nothing much tbh, it's a quiet time in the Muse world. ...I like "Guiding Light". It would be cool to hear "Hyper Music", though, yes. Don't know if us Americans will be likely to hear "Fury", though, as that track wasn't on our copies of Absolution over here. Where in the world they're playing also likely factors into their decisions on what to play. I remember Dom saying at some point something like "Americans don't know the lyrics to our older songs" so I wouldn't be surprised if we never see another Showbiz-era song played live here again.
January 24, 201214 yr I remember Dom saying at some point something like "Americans don't know the lyrics to our older songs" so I wouldn't be surprised if we never see another Showbiz-era song played live here again. In some ways that's not true but in some ways it is, too. Sigh. Shame, that. It still wouldn't hurt to throw at least a couple of those songs in anyway. I'd be thrilled if I could hear, like, "Muscle Museum" or "Bliss" or "Unintended". Or hell, if they played "Uno", and ESPECIALLY if they played "Falling Down", that'd be really awesome (I adore "Falling Down". I'd freak if they did that one sometime).
