October 20, 201114 yr I fucking hate Invincible. Starlight has a nice melody and Supermassive Black Hole is a guilty pleasure, but it seems like it has a lot of filler. Knights Of Cydonia is damn good. I just want something different than prog-pop-rock. :(
October 20, 201114 yr I do like the solo in Invincible (it's way better than the Guiding Light/NSC solos) but the rest of the song is kinda...bleh. (surprisingly, Invincible has one of Muse's better music videos and I always feel like singing it when I'm on the actual It's a Small World ride) I used to not like Soldier's Poem, but it's grown on me as a brief "breather" piece. Really, though, at least half of BH&R is really incredible.
October 20, 201114 yr I'm curious. What do you guys think of Assassin? Because no matter how hard I try, I can't get into it. It just has too much going on, imo.
October 20, 201114 yr I'm curious. What do you guys think of Assassin? Because no matter how hard I try, I can't get into it. It just has too much going on, imo. Fucking awesome song, especially the Grand Omega Bosses Edit (i.e. the original version of the song)
October 20, 201114 yr *delurks* New Muse albumn :awesome: Something good better come out of it though or I'm totally going to stop following bands over long periods of time. They only seem to mash up your heart. And I like Assassin, but it took me a whole while to like it because I didn't get it at first, you know?
October 20, 201114 yr ^Natt love ur new avi As much as I'd love for that to be the case, I doubt it. D: I mean, if we were to believe Chris Martin, we would have had MX for Christmas 2010 haha. I don't care how long it takes Muse so long as they produce another amazing album. :dazzled: Chris martin rambles muse dont, they always said they'd release TR in end of 2009 and we got it in September or was it October so i have a feeling before the end of next year we'll have our album You know, I actually really like BH&R when you take away the 3 pop/cheese tracks (Starlight, SMBH, Invincible). Yeah, those 3 songs paved the way for some bad habits on The Resistance, but the rest of BH&R is damn good. MOTP is the only post-Absolution Muse song to crack my Top 10. when BH&R came out i hated it, god i hated both this and X&Y and so found bloc party and editors yep MOTP and city of delusion are the best thing on that album
October 20, 201114 yr Starlight was the song that helped me discover Muse so I will always have a soft spot for it. :wacky: And I prefer the Grand Omega Bosses edit version of Assassin. They should have left it as that.
October 20, 201114 yr October seems fair. Over 3 years since The Resistance, plus they have family lives and a 6th goddamn Wolstenkid. I checked and there were only 4 (:stunned:) performances of CE in North America last tour (I saw 2 of them). That number needs to increase drastically next tour. Should be interesting to see what stays on the setlists next tour. I predict only the 3 singles from The Resistance will survive, since only the first 5 songs on the album were still in rotation by the tour's end (though I still want them to eradicate UD forever). Hey, don't get me wrong, I sure wouldn't be complaining if we got a Muse album soon. :awesome: Holy fudge muffins. :wreck: I feel so special, ahuehue. I really hope they only keep Uprising and Resistance (they were actually a ton of fun live imo) and rotate MK Ultra and Unnatural Selection. :wacky: Then add MOAR SHOWBOZ AND ORIGIN. :whip: And as for BH&R, the only song from there I don't like is Invincible. Map and Take a Bow just never get old, and I actually really like SMBH.
October 20, 201114 yr I will punch a Wolstenbaby if they ever drop MOTP from the regular set. Hope the new album is a little less "Resistance" if you know what i mean... We know what you mean, and most of us agree.
October 21, 201114 yr Hope the new album is a little less "Resistance" if you know what i mean... I don't know, I mean I really liked some moments in TR (MK Ultra, Unnatural Selection, bass clarinet solo of IBTY, even Uprising), I just hope that the next album has more signature Muse rock (:charming:) and less pop/experimenting in different genres.
October 21, 201114 yr I fucking hate Invincible. Oh God, THIS. This is exactly how I feel about that song. It's the cheesiest song I've ever heard from Muse thus far. I skip over it everytime I get to it. I also used to not like Assassins, but now I like it.
October 21, 201114 yr Muse =/= Queen, can we all agree on that? No more of these songs trying to sound like it, I fucking hate that. :(
October 21, 201114 yr Eh, I don't mind that sound so much, though. To me, The Resistance sounded like a cross between Queen and Depeche Mode and I liked it. But, I like Muse's earlier albums, too. I think one of my favorite things about Muse, though, is the grafting of classical music into their charts. It's like a little golden surprise in an already wonderful treasure.
October 21, 201114 yr :wreck: So much Invincible hate. I actually really like it. I think Supermassive Black Hole is the worst song on BH&R, it's just.. ugh. Oh God, THIS. This is exactly how I feel about that song. It's the cheesiest song I've ever heard from Muse thus far. I skip over it everytime I get to it. I also used to not like Assassins, but now I like it. I guess you haven't heard Neutron Star Collision? :P

We all know what im talking about.

I guess you haven't heard Neutron Star Collision? :P I'll be honest, I've only heard it once and it was back when it was released for one of those Twilight soundtracks. I can't remember what it sounded like because I wasn't a big fan of Muse's back then so I paid it no heed. Maybe I should go back and re-listen??? :\:laugh3:
October 21, 201114 yr how many of u have seen then pics on twitter so they definitely are in the studio

I think one of my favorite things about Muse, though, is the grafting of classical music into their charts. It's like a little golden surprise in an already wonderful treasure. I agree, I thought it worked for them for an album but I don't see it doing well as a permanent style for them. i love the resistance album, almost all the songs are awsome i just dont wanna another pop wannabe band. We all know what im talking about. Lol agreed. :P AND YES I SAW THE PICTURES :dazzled: Got such a kick out of this one
October 22, 201114 yr Are they still using the studio on Lake Como? GUIZ OMG I JUST DIED. I just got back from a football game, and my friend and I were all "Hey *band director name* we should do a Muse show next year!" and he said "I like Muse! I actually wrote a show using Knights of Cydonia a few years ago but the school I wrote it for rejected it *sadface*" And I srsly died and I was all "OMG U SRS BRO?!" and now there's a chance we're doing a Muse/ Brit rock show next year. :o
October 22, 201114 yr My college's Pep Band added "Uprising" to the books this year. Too bad I couldn't do Pep Band this year. :bigcry: :bigcry: :bigcry: It was kinda funny, because I had heard them rehearsing it, and as they were putting stuff up, I walked in. Some of my friends were like, "HEY VIOLET, we were just talking about you." They proceeded to tell me how the first thought that came into mind when they saw the song was how pissed I was going to be because I wasn't in Pep Band. As bad as that sounds, it's kinda flattering knowing that I'm the first thing people think of when they think of Muse.

I could be wrong, but I think Matt sold the place after breaking up with Gaia. Emphasis on "I think".
