Well, maybe he sounded humorous... Anyway I think you're not totally right :

-First, it's obvious to me that, even if it was brilliant, Muse's music did not really evolve between Showbiz and Absolution. If you listen to some songs like Futurism/Hysteria, Dead Star/Yes Please, Shine/Screenager, even Muscle Museum/Apocalypse Please... you'll notice that Matt uses many many times the same effects, chords, even lyrics.

 

-Then, I think Placebo's music changed a lot with each album, from a very teenage-sounding gothic rock to something much more mature, with some kind of adult desperation.

 

Anyway, don't misunderstand : I love both as much !

So, I finally saw them Thursday night, headlining the FM4 Frequency Festival.
