The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You

OK!

So, my pictures are still uploading (they're taking FOREVER) but my videos are up!

Sound and picture quality can be a bit dodgy on both, but they're not too bad. Please excuse the awful singing/screaming of my friends and myself... Im pretty sure in a couple of them you can hear my voice give way :embarrassed: (it's still recovering )

Great videos! Thanks for sharing. :D

just got back from muse. it was pretty wild actually haha so i dont exactly remember that much lmao. ummm i got within 2 people of the barrier even though i rocked up after the gates had opened and made very little effort to actually move forward. umm what else. i went psycho when they played stockholm but i was anticipating a longer outro jam but didnt get it. i was the only person who screamed and shouted like a fangirl when dom and chris started helsinki jam (that drew some odd looks). headbanging along with chris was a lot of fun, i purposely stood in front of his area cos he is my favourite member of the band and most rock n roll. crowd was good but not over the top wild and crazy which is fine by me cos i need to back up now and give my all to linkin park in less than 48hrs and then u2 48hrs after that!!

and have you guys discussed the set they played on the 2nd night in brisbane. insane!! but kinda weird at the same time. in some ways im glad i got the regular setlist but i wouldve loved to have heard some of the tracks on that brisbane set.

Awesome, glad you had a great time! I see you got Sunburn! :awesome:

  • I've been a Muse fan for a couple of years now. I liked a couple of their hits but then a friend invited me to come with him to a Muse concert with him in 2013. The live experience was amazing and I h

I forgot half the concert too!

That's awesome that you got barrier!

CE and Sunburn? :wideeyed: Not exactly shabby! :P

i was really disappointed they dedicated CE to the founder of WikiLeaks who is currently under investigation for allegedly raping two women. oh yeah and i screamed abuse at matt for not playing the piano intro to new born haha.

I don't pay any mind to musicians who spout off about politics or social issues. It's easy to be a dissenter, however, these jokers couldn't solve a problem if their life depended on it. Just do what you do best - play music.

Wtf. . . . that doesn't seem very much like Muse. . .:surprised:

Good for you though! He needs to start playing that again! :whip:

Just checked the Muse Messageboard for some :srs:, not too bad. . . it sounds like some people that went to earlier gigs were pissed that Australia was getting such amazing setlists. :anxious:

This guy (hysteria_bside) sums my thoughts up well:

Ok so I've just read through the entire Sexy Plane's trip (well, not the whole thread obviously haha, but since from the page where Muse started playing), and HOLY FUCK some of you people need to chill out!!

Sure I know it must be annoying when you find out that other shows got songs that you wish you got, I've been annoyed when I've missed out on some of my favourites only for other shows (sometimes the very next night) to receive them; but hey, harden up, accept it, and if you have any sense of gratitude/generosity/humanity, feel happy for those who DID get to hear the songs, and also, shouldn't it make you feel happy that Muse are still at least playing them?

I always get excited and happy when I read a setlist with awesome songs or rarities, even if it's from the other side of the world and I have no chance of being at that gig, because I'm happy for the people who were there, I know I can find it most likely on youtube or a bootleg, and even if I can't do that, I know that 'hey, at least Muse haven't forgotten about that song, and a few thousand people would have had an awesome night tonight somewhere'.

amazing footage from sydney night 1

oh yeah i also drank water in the pit for the first time ever. i felt like a bit of a sell out. but then again this is muse's resistance tour :P

AHH YOU GOT SUNBURN AND CE??? :bomb: :bomb:

I don't think you realise how jealous I am of you!!

*ignores any talk about 2nd brisbane gig*

Wow... Barrier :stunned:

I wanted barrier. But my friend was afraid of being squashed (and he'd just had an operation or something and was told to avoid squashery or something to that effect) :disappointed:

Awww, that's a shame

But when you're as short as I am, if you don't get barrier or second row then you have no chance of even seeing the band, so it's well worth it for me!

Great videos! Thanks for sharing. :D

No worries :nice:

Sorry they're not GREAT quality, but they'll do :P

some terrible numbers from the band's 2 night stay in brisbane

Revenue - $2,306,030

Tickets Sold - 18,810

Tickets Available - 27,370

 That can't be right. According to the site, the maximum concert capacity is 13,500 including the standing area...which means that 27000 tickets available would mean they were playing to a completely empty arena :P

Same here! I'm 5'3 and a smidge... So I get lost in a crowd, let alone a Muse crowd. People are sometimes nice to me though and I've been picked up and carried forward in a load of gigs. S'weird.

Haha, I completely missed this the first time I read that post :laugh3:

I always drink water when they pass it around! It makes you feel so much better after the end, especially after a high-energy gig like Muse.

Haha yeah I'm about 5'2... I've never been carried forwards before though :surprised:

Once a guy let me go in front of him which meant I got barrier (he was a little intoxicated at the time)

available meaning how many were put on sale. so 18000 out of the 27000 were sold and 9000 remained unsold. which means they only sold 66% of the tickets, very disappointing for one of the biggest bands in the world. i'll be interested to see the figures from the sydney shows cos i saw a lot of empty seats last night.

Right, that makes more sense...

That's interesting, because the place was packed at my show, there was barely a bare seat to be seen... it must have been very empty on the second night, but I haven't heard that's the case... will indeed be interesting to see how the other cities do.

On a side note, apparently tonight's show in Sydney got Butterflies, Bliss & "a fuckload of riffs after SS" (not my words...)

I have a friend who went, and she said it was the best concert she's ever been to. But then, she's only ever been to 3 shows, and they've all been Muse :P

It's a highly weird experience.

At Kings of Leon I was stood pretty far back (I didn't finish work until 12, so didn't get there until 3pm just before the afternoon of bands started) and I was trying to record Mary where I was stood with my fam... And this guy in front of me was like: 'That's got to be killing your arms. Here, let me help.' Picked me up and carried me with him through the crowd to get me closer. It was cool... Until an hour later when I realised I didn't know where my family were anymore

Ha. Drunk people at gigs = classic fools.

^ haha awesome stories

But, I hate drunk people at concerts, I have a trauma with one :shifty:

:stunned: What happened?

(And they can be annoying. A drunk guy pissed on my friend and I at Reading this year :veryangry2:)

Well, I gonna try to explain...I was having a great time during a Muse concert with my friends, when suddenly a drunk man (probably over the effect of something else) that was behind me, spilled a glass of beer down my back :shifty: I gave him my evil look and I continued having fun during that awesome concert like nothing happened...I had beer in my hair and shirt!!! :bigcry: I really stinked in the end of the concert...lol

I didn't have time for a fight or even be angry, Muse were on the stage

^Ew. Grosss.

That's the right attitude to adopt though. Specially for Muse concerts.

It was :shifty: if I ever see that man again...:whip:

Yeah, I was way to excited for that concert!

Damn! Australia's the place to be! :bigcry:

Unless you were at my show... :bigcry:

:stunned: What happened?

:shocked2: ugh, that's disgusting!! Why is there so much wrong with the world?
