The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You

Featured Replies

 At least we have new material and new tours to look forward to in the future.

Whilst Muse are off the circuit we get the return of Coldplay, Kasabian and Foo Fighters. So I think I should be able to deal... Just ;)

  • I've been a Muse fan for a couple of years now. I liked a couple of their hits but then a friend invited me to come with him to a Muse concert with him in 2013. The live experience was amazing and I h

Just three more gigs? Time passes by quite quickly.

You guys probably have already seen this, but I'll just post it, because I like it. A lot. Even if the song itself still makes me laugh.

Neutron Star Collision without the Twilight scenes. :awesome:

ontd_muse strikes again

It made my life for a few days. Not even going to lie. I can now listen to the song without gagging as much. Success.

The #1 source for all things Muse. :P

Every time a scene from the movie popped up in the video, I thought "Please get off my screen." The director's cut is much more enjoyable. :wacky:

Haha I know you guys hate twilight and everything but thanks to that movie I was able to "rediscover" muse.let me explain before you kill me.lol

The first time I heard muse I was 12 but at that same time I had discovered coldplay as well. So I became a huge coldplay fan and completely forgot about muse. But then twilight brought it up and I was like "oh! Muse! I can't believe I forgot about them" so then I went and bought the first song I heard by them "time is running out" and I've been discovering their music ever since. So I know you all hate twilight with a passion, but I've gotta say thanks twilight for that ;)

I am sorry though that you guys suffer through those annoyances of twilighters. I would hate coldplay to get involved with that movie, eventhough I liked the books(don't hate me for that )

glad i was at sydney night 1, night 2 didnt get CE!!

We didn't get map of problematique either. Still a worthwhile concert, they didnt play anything shit and i had brilliant seats.

Aw, no! We're definitely not like "EW TWILIGHT KILL IT WITH FIRE". (I personally just find Twilight pretty hilarious.) And there's absolutely nothing wrong with discovering Muse or any other band through Twilight. :nice: It just kinda sucks when Twilighters claim that Muse is their favorite band when the only songs they know are the ones from the soundtracks and they don't make an effort to listen to Muse's albums.

There's no need to apologize. :) That's awesome that you're checking out more of Muse's music. Welcome to the thread!

EDIT: Time Is Running Out was the first Muse song I obsessed over. :awesome:

That's :awesome:!

We only hate Twilighters that only know SMBH and then go to the gigs and are all "What song is this? This wasn't in Twilight!"

I have nothing against anyone that found out about Muse through Twilight and then went and explored some of their other music a bit.

I actually found out about Muse through Twilight, so, like you, I must thank Twilight for that. . . :anxious:

We didn't get map of problematique either. Still a worthwhile concert, they didnt play anything shit and i had brilliant seats.

Aw, I love Map.

That's great that you had a good time though!

Haha I totally thought that's what would happen to me:P

yea I would hate that too if someone claimed it is their favorite band just cuz of a twilight soundtrack. I actually don't even feel comfortable calling myself a muse fan, cuz I think im not worthy yet:laugh3: I have to listen to more of their music. That's also part of the reason why I didn't see them this tour. I didn't want to take up space for another fan who has known them longer than me. But mostly i didn't go cuz they didn't come to SF :(

Yay thanks, glad to be allowed here:lol:

yea I love that song so much! It first caught my attention when I saw the video and I thought it was funny those guys were jumping without bending their knees:lol: which I then proceeded to try to jump without bending my knees:laugh3:

I  TIRO.

I used to play it a few times every day. :wacky:

But then I moved onto being obsessed with Sunburn.

This.

Haha that's cool you found about them through twilight too, I don't feel alone :P

I truly respect muse for their incredibly amazing unique sound. And I know thers plenty other songs to discover.

recently I heard sunburn and its so cool!

I love map of the problematique too. It helped through a very stressful research paper:D and it gave me the chills cuz its so good!

Haha I totally thought that's what would happen to me:P

That's really selfless of you! :nice:

Haha, I took a few friends with me to the show I went to and they felt weird because they didn't even know the band half as well as I do... but then I guess I know them pretty well :P

The first Muse song I was ever really obsessed with was Starlight. I went through a phase where if I didn't listen to the song at least 3 times, my day wouldn't feel complete

Then it was Knights, and then all of BHaR, and then I went to a record store and bought their entire back catalogue

my first muse song was TIRO back in 2003, my brother had it on his computer so i started listening to it. but i didnt become a muse fan until i heard supermassive black hole.

Aw! Hopefully, you'll be able to see Muse on their next tour! I've never seen them live, but from what I've heard from reviews and seen on YouTube, their live show is something you won't want to miss.

It's a ridiculously catchy song, and the video is pretty awesome. :wacky:

I literally tried jumping without bending my knees after I read your post. I only made it less than half an inch off the ground.

EDIT: While TIRO was the first Muse song I was obsessed with, Take a Bow and Map of the Problematique () were the ones that really got me into Muse. Starlight too.

isnt jumping without bending your knees basically what you do in a moshpit?

I JUST GOT MY U2+MUSE TICKET :bomb:

i love that video without the shiny blood suckers:laugh3:

and i've also remembered i love that song but hate the song tittle

I JUST GOT MY U2+MUSE TICKET :bomb:

Congrats Lore!!!! That will be sooooo amazing!! :bomb:

thanks :bomb:

U2 fans want to camp outside the stadium the night before the concert. Last time they arrived there around 6pm of the day before the gig. It'll be insane but I hope I'll be able to do it :awesome:

^ :stunned: Whoah, that's insane!

There were people camped out the night before my gig too, I didn't get there til about 1pm but still managed to get a good spot :awesome:

That's really selfless of you! :nice:

Haha thanks. I just would like to know the majority of songs and the words, I would enjoy the show a lot more. I would have felt weird too if I had gone on this tour I still don't know many songs, well at least by name. I hear a lot of their songs on pandora. On my supermassive black hole playlist:D

At work it gets so boring and dealing with annoying customers really drains you. That's where I frist heard starlight and it would get me in a good mood. But I didn't know the name so I spent an hour playing each song on itunes until I found out the name. And then like you I had to play it at least 3 times a day

starlight and TIRO would get me to see them live though as much as I wouldn't want to take up space for someone else to hear those two live (and map), I would break my rule:P

I know I really hope to see them next time! And I hope they'll come to SF. I've seen a concert of theirs on palladia, and it totally looks awesome! Makes me want to go soooo bad:heart:

Yea very catchy! That video is just so cool, it reminds me of that time in my life when I was discovering good music. Haha that's funny  haha yea I figured that out too that you can barely lift off the ground. And I was like "how the heck can they jump that high?!" Oh it was soo much fun though and I laughed a lot:lol: oh how fun it was to be a kid:P

Oh yea those are my favorites. Well not take a bow because Im not sure which one that is. But im pretty sure I like it because I remember the name and I remember the name of songs I like :P

I just really owe it to that "jumping video" for liking muse :P it was a memorable video that helped me remember who they were years later. I wanna see that video now...and jump along :P

I've never been in a mosh pit, is that really what you do, jumping withought bending the knees? :P

Congratulations Lore

I heard Bliss on a CSI fan video and was all like... Ohhh this is cool and decided to look up the band. Turned out to be Absolution era so I dug up the back catalogue and followed them around for a bit. :P

And since then I've loved them

my first muse song was TIRO back in 2003, my brother had it on his computer so i started listening to it. but i didnt become a muse fan until i heard supermassive black hole.

OMG exactly the same as me (except i saw the video for TIRO and remember quite liking it). :stunned:
