Does anyone else think that an animation would've really worked as the video for Charlie Brown?

 

The track really reminds me of Life in Technicolor II in that it has a happy, upbeat and almost juvenile feel to it, and that shines through in the video with the puppet show. It feels a little like the guys have missed a trick here and could have produced a fun little animated video to go with the song, even if it would've meant not working with Mat Whitecross as they seem to be doing on a permanent basis now. Thoughts?

This was my first thought too. Maybe they chouldn't get the rights from the Schulz estate?

^ This song only has the name in common with Schulz's drawing. You know there used to be lyrics that made the link clearer, but they disappeared eventually but the title remained the same. What I mean is that I think it may would have been pointless to do an animated video with the actual Charlie Brown, since it doesn't really have anything to do with it anymore. However an animated video with other stuff, that would have been a great idea, imo. Anyway, we didn't get it, so that's it :lol:

I agree, my original thought wasn't to have a Charlie Brown animation, just an animation in general. But it's a fair point, maybe the guys thought it would be pointless to make an animation for a song called Charlie Brown if they couldn't get the rights to do an actual Charlie Brown animation.

I'm one of the few who loved the studio version, I couldn't have imagined a better video for CB, but now that you mention an animation.... it kinda feels right for CB! I'd love to see that!

And there's so many different styles they can use too. The possibilities are endless!

The only cartoon that would have done justice was actually using the Peanuts characters or animation style and that would cost a fair amount of $$$$$$$$
