April 2, 201214 yr I am aware harhar Oh god does this mean Autism Speaks is going to be doing like more stuff than normal why do they still exist ugh
April 2, 201214 yr My first thought was "Oh yes Autistic kids should have more awareness" and my 2nd thought was "Oh fuck Autistic kids would hate having awareness".
April 2, 201214 yr Please correct me if I'm overstepping etiquette here, but is it just me or is this kind of offensive:
April 2, 201214 yr Please correct me if I'm overstepping etiquette here, but is it just me or is this kind of offensive: Yeah normally overstepping the etiquette and being offensive involves making a point.
April 2, 201214 yr I have no idea what I'm supposed to take away from that puzzle piece acronym thing.
April 2, 201214 yr Autism happens to share April with Irritable Bowel Syndrome Awareness, National Distracted Driving Month, Mathematics Awareness Month, National Car Care Awareness Month, Jazz Appreciation, and Stress Awareness Month. Nice
April 2, 201214 yr The whole puzzle piece thing in itself is pretty dumb too tammi, you are the missing piece to my puzzle
April 2, 201214 yr Author I'm on the autism spectrum (aspergers and NVLD) and I dont take offense to the picture but that's just me maybe x_X No need to make fun tho...

April 2, 201214 yr i don't want to sound offensive but sometimes it sounds like everyone is on the autism spectrum
April 2, 201214 yr Author I think a lot of people diagnos themselves. I did not, I was diagnosed when I was younger. I still don't take offense to the picture...
April 2, 201214 yr Wait how can you have both aspergers and nld I'm confused And yes I think everyone on the internet pretty much thinks they're autistic it's kinda annoying haha
April 2, 201214 yr Author you can have both, they overlap a lot but there are some chatrecteristics that are specific to one or the other.
April 2, 201214 yr That could also be something like PDD-NOS though. I dunno, I'm intrigued now, though technically NLD isn't considered part of the spectrum so I guess that's why?
April 3, 201214 yr Author I'm not 100% sure. But keep in mind that the diagnostic criteria had changed since I was little. It may very well be considered PDDNOS today.
April 3, 201214 yr Meh, I'm just a regular old Aspie myself. It shits me when others try to patronise it as meaning you're mentally incompetent and/or have to be talked to like a baby. A fair few 'professionals' have done that to me Example being: that stupid puzzle ribbon that makes no sense
April 3, 201214 yr Author I can't stand that. I've never gotten it from my professors, but currently there's a girl in my Spanish class who thinks I need "help" with everything. She'll nudge my arm (stop touching me!) and whisper "we're on page 37" or "we're doing verbs now" or "make sure you have a pencil for the quiz!" I try not to get too mad because she must think she's being helpful, but it gets very annoying.
