Oneohtrix Point Never Announces New Album R Plus Seven

Daniel Lopatin's Oneohtrix Point Never is back with the full-length follow-up to 2011's excellent Replica. It's called R Plus Seven and will be out October 1 via OPN's new label home, Warp. This also follows two collaborative LPs from 2012, with Tim Hecker and Rene Hell, as well as the Rifts box set reissue and the Dog in the Fog remix EP. According to a press release, "[Lopatin]'s Warp Records debut is a major departure from his previous work." It notes that this record "comes as close as Lopatin has ever gotten to anything resembling traditional song structure."

Drake Announces Release Date for Nothing Was The Same, Shares Collabs with Sampha and J. Cole

Drake has shared a new track, presumably from his next album Nothing Was The Same, titled ‘The Motion’. Interesting, it features Young Turks’ Sampha. Drake’s shouted out Sampha before and memorably collaborated with his labelmate Jamie xx on his last album Take Care. Oh, and despite previously alluding to the album being out in time for Summer, Drake’s also announced that Nothing Was The Same will be released on September 17.

The Dismemberment Plan Announce New Album Uncanney Valley

The Dismemberment Plan are back in full force. After a ten-year run beginning in 1993, the band broke up in 2003. In 2007, they staged a pair of benefit reunion shows, before coming together for a full-on reunion tour in 2011. (A reissue of their landmark 1999 album Emergency & I also came out in 2011.) Now, the band have finally shared details of their first full-length studio LP since 2001's Change. It's called Uncanney Valley and it's out October 15 via Partisan.

n an interview with Montreality, the RZA discusses, among other things, growing up, his favorite cartoon character, and his thoughts on the ODB hologram (he’s for it). More importantly, he updates the Wu-Nation on the status of the group’s forthcoming — and final — album, A Better Tomorrow. Originally slated for a July release, the difficulty of corralling the notoriously flaky supergroup has pushed the album back to November, which would coincide with the 20th anniversary of Enter The Wu-Tang‘s November 9, 1993 release.

Actress Reveals Tracklist for New LP, Ghettoville

The producer had barely released 2012′s R.I.P when news began to swarm of a second Actress full-length hitting shelves that year. Originally mooted to appear in July 2012, the album failed to see the light of day, although we were assured by new label partner Ninja Tune that the record was happening eventually. Odd Future's Earl Sweatshirt shared the title of his upcoming LP, Doris, back in December, with few details. Though he's currently off the road due to illness, today he took to Twitter to share the tracklist for the record. He also wrote that it will be out August 20. Mazzy Star Announce New Album Seasons of Your Day, Share "California"

In 2011, 1990s dream pop greats Mazzy Star returned with their first single in many years, the excellent "Common Burn" b/w "Lay Myself Down". Today the band has confirmed that both tracks will feature on their new LP, Seasons of Your Day, out September 24 in the U.S. and September 23 in the UK via their own Rhymes of an Hour label. This is Mazzy Star's first LP since 1996's Among My Swan and you can hear the track "California" below.

Cults Announce New Album Static

New York twee-pop outfit Cults are back with the follow up to their debut self-titled album. It's called Static, and it's out October 15 via Columbia. It was produced by Cults with Shane Stoneback (who worked on their debut) and Ben Allen (Animal Collective, Washed Out, Youth Lagoon).

Kompakt Regular The Field Announces "Darker, Slower" New Album Cupid's Head

The follow-up to 2011′s Looping State of Mind, a press release for the album claims that it’s darker and slower than past Field records, and the first from Axel Willner to be hardware only – no computers. Regular fans of The Field will note the change in the artwork – whereas past Field records have always used light backgrounds, this one’s dark grey.

André 3000 Teases New Solo Album

While Big Boi has delivered two solo albums in the time since OutKast went on hiatus, André 3000's musical output has largely been one-off collaborations. But as MissInfo.tv reports, he may have a new album coming out next year. Stephen Hill, the president of programming at BET, ran into André backstage at the Lil Wayne, T.I., and 2 Chainz show in Washington, DC yesterday. He tweeted their exchange:

 

Me: hey what's up? You got the movie coming, right? Andre 3000: yeah...and I got a solo album coming top of the year. Me:*droptofloor*

 

Though this is far from confirmed, official, or definite, a new André 3000 album would be his first solo endeavor since The Love Below, his half of the 2003 OutKast split LP.

My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields Says "All-New Material" and Remastered Albums are in the Works

After waiting over two decades for m b v, fans of My Bloody Valentine might not have to wait that long for new material from the band. Shields says that three m b v offcuts “will come out sometime,” including one that is “chord-based,” one “rhythmic-based,” and one similar to album track ‘She Found Now’. More interestingly, Shields says that — along with analog remasters of Loveless and Isn’t Anything — “the main plan for next year is to make a new record.”
