Awwww me likes R Kelly...well the popular songs....

and not his shady past

Modern R&B, which adhering to typical pop melodies and structure, tends to deal with redundant subject matter in vague ways. Every song, from the periphery, seems like a love song that uses colorful language to describe the same ending goal. As such, it turns a lot of people off, making the beauty of the genre inaccessible or hidden from a lot of fans.

In that wasy, it's much like Rap or Country music, where the overt subverts the inert.

Country music usually has great lyrics! Really sad songs...

Lord Of The Ring - Return of the King

I really enjoyed the Colin Firth story line, although why is it that every movie he's in with Hugh Grant his wife end up cheating on him?

I like your avatar.

Good question! It reminds me Bridget Jone's diary...

oh thanx ...Carla sent the avatar to me :)

LOTR: ROTK! Only one word...

OSCARS!

Boy am I gonna murder the Academy if they f*ck up this time (sorry for the strong language but they'll really hit themselves in the head if they miss this one... :D ) Peter Jackson at least for the golden statuette

Peter Jackson seems a better bet than the flick for best pic ... but "there is still hope."

I just saw House of Sand and Fog.

One word:

Average.

Is that the one with Jennifer Conelly and I don't know who the other actors are....

I watched Dumb and Dumber today on HBO, and in theatres I saw Return Of The King

Harts war :stunned:

I nearly puked!! ah all those feet with frostbite! :stunned:

I have 1 more thing to say....... :stunned: :stunned: :stunned: :stunned:

Yes, that's it. Connelly plays Kathy, a recovering alcoholic whose house it taken from her after she fails to correct a mistake the county has made in levying taxes. The house is then bought by an Iranian family, patriarch of which is Ben Kingsley's Mustafa. The house, bought at auction, will secure his family's financial future when he sells it, but Connelly sees the house as her dead father's legacy and doesn't plan to let it go.

Connelly and Kingsley are both really good.

So you don't recommend it. It looked good in the previews.

ugggh...I just remembered that she was in the Hulk movie...that looked pretty bad!

But, she was good in the a beautiful mind....Did either of them win academy awards for that? That movie was great....he did a spectacular job! Better than Gladiator for me!

No, I recommend it. It's a good movie. Not great. But good.

I just saw Big Fish.

All I have to say is..

Weirdness in a weird way. If you like fantasy type stuff you'll like this movie. It was just hard for me to get into it at first. But by the end they integrated more of the 'real life' part of the story with the fantasy and you felt more for the characters. It was actually kind of a sad movie. So be prepared for that. The filming was good I thought. But if you've ever seen a Tim Burton movie before, then you should pretty much know how this film will be like.
