Guess coldplay song

Featured Replies

i did some googling, so here's a (conspiracy) list and you can kindly tell me how wrong i am

A famous Belgian: Hercule Poirot, created by Agatha Christie

Chris

Queen of Sweden Christina had interactions with Pope Alexander VII

Agatha Christie novel "The Clocks" -> Clocks ... and some lyric from that ("confusion never stops" seems appropriate right now :P)

Extra song: Ride On by Christy Moore

Potential place to buy guitar: Christie's in London

oh, what, i should make a guess based on this information? i suppose that makes sense :P

all that makes up a whole lotta "Chris..."

Christmas Lights?

or just a song with a whole lotta Chris? Parachutes, Postcards From Far Away, Harmless...

The Chris Conspirary :D

@I ran away, I started from the previous riddles' answers. Am I on the wrong direction with that?

If so, I know Belgium is a small country, but we have a lot of famous people, could you at least give some era to find that Belgian?

Chrispiracy? :wink3:

there are so many famous Belgian people :dizzy: that and i got a lot of results about waffles

The Belgian has been found !

@@coldplayisawesome is right about a lot of things:

It is Hercule Poirot and all the other hints pointed to Agatha **Christie**.

However, Pope Alexander has not been interpreted correctly. Also, Clocks is indeed the song but the lyric needed has not yet been named.

If you combine that lyric with Monsieur Hercule and that Pope, you will get to a story that leads to a Coldplay song.

Pope Alexander (VI) was related to Christopher Columbus?

semi-unrelated note: i'm watching a movie right now while trying to work out the rest of the clues for this riddle, and someone in the movie just mentioned Hercule Poirot :surprised:

OK, guys, I think I got the connection between Poirot and Pope Alexander, and maybe the lyric in Clocks. Poirot was Roman Catholic and he purportedly fashioned himself as "Papa Poirot" or

"father confessor". So, my guess about the Clocks lyric is "Tides that I try to swim against, have got me down upon my knees, oh I beg, I beg and plead." I'm just guessing that the "down upon my knees" line relates to confession. How that all leads to another Coldplay song...that's where I'm hoping all of you can help!

I think I have found the relation between Hercule Poirot - Pope Alexander - Clocks.

The Clocks (from Agatha Christie) is a Hercule Poirot story about a mystery including clocks that don't tick anymore.

Pope Alexander was an insomniac and he ordered a Silent Night Clock, a clock with a silent mechanism.

The line in Clocks --> Closing walls and ticking clocks

This leads me to "A Whisper" --> I hear the sound of the ticking of clocks.

(And now that I have read it, I remember that I have seen the last part of that Hercule Poirot episode on TV a few weeks ago!! :D )

That's a lot of connections you guys made...

@iamsue - no, that one was not a clue, sorry

I'm sorry to say that none of them is the connection I thought of though :O

I think you need to labor a bit more to get the answer...

Clocks lyric: "shoot an apple off my head"

in The Labours of Hercules, Poirot goes through the 12 labors of Hercules basically, and the Apples of Hesperides parallel has Poirot meeting who "purchased at auction a gold goblet which was supposedly made for Pope Alexander VI by Benvenuto Cellini, which the Borgia Pope used to poison his victims" (a thing which i had found earlier but wasn't sure if it counted because it wasn't he same Pope Alexander from the other riddle, but since you haven't put a number to his name at all i'm going with it now)

... but i don't see a way right now to further connect this one to a Coldplay song :\

That's exactly what I meant !

And there is a song title directly connected to the story title.

All this killing... must be Murder. [emoji14]

i am very proud of myself right now :P

ok, but now i need to think of a new riddle... i'll try to post one by the end of the day

You deserve it. [emoji4]

First I Watch The Festival Of The Flame. Then I Go To Rio.

Take the days of these events as they relate to Coldplay.

Go to the song that is the first number on the second number.

Line 5 and 6: this set of lyrics describes what song?

Festival of the Flame = Paralympics Closing Ceremony: 9th of September

I Go To Rio => ETIAW, released on 3rd of June

Song 9 on 3 => ninth on X&Y =>Low

"The sky could fall, could fall on me

The parting of the sea"

=> Moses

thanks, it's sometimes coincidence though...so is that correct, Moses ?

If yes, I have a vague idea for a new riddle but it will need some research first, so I could pot one tomorrow ! :)
