Sir Paul McCartney, Dame Judi Dench and Coldplay among celebs to design special Pudsey Bears for Children in Need

Charity creations include a Sgt Pepper Pudsey and an Absolutely Fabulous-styled bear

Sir Paul McCartney, Dame Judi Dench and Coldplay are among celebrities who have designed a range of special Pudsey Bears to raise money for BBC Children in Need.

The eight VIPs - or Very Important Pudseys - have gone on show at St Pancras International station in London before they are auctioned off.

They include a Sgt Pepper Pudsey, designed by Macca, and an astronomer Pudsey created by Queen's Brian May.

Joanna Lumley's bear is inspired by her role as Patsy Stone in Absolutely Fabulous and comes complete with a tweed jacket with Chanel buttons and a Lulu Guinness handbag.

She said: "This project really has been tremendous fun, I loved dreaming up my Pudsey design.

"I don't believe it needs much explanation, but my design is a reflection of a character I hold very dear, Patsy.

"I hope this bear has just as much fun being Patsy as I did. Please do get bidding and give this adorable bear a lovely home."

Very Important Pudsey Collection

BBC Children in Need bring you the 'Very Important Pudsey' Collection, a bespoke collection of eight Bears designed by the great and the good from British film, TV and music.

Eight Bears created by five rock stars, three Dames, two Knights, and an Absolutely Fabulous actress!

Sir Paul McCartney, Coldplay, Sir Terry Wogan, Dame Shirley Bassey, Brian May, Dame Judi Dench, Joanna Lumley and Dame Helen Mirren have all redesigned Pudsey in their own unique ways. The Collection sees Pudsey recreated in an array of different colours from brown to royal blue, in a range of different materials from velvet to diamante, and in a range of different styles, from an Ab Fab Pudsey to a Leprechaun Pudsey!

Many of the stars chose to reflect some of their most iconic moments through their designs; Sir Paul McCartney designed a Sgt. Pepper Pudsey whilst Dame Helen Mirren has fashioned Pudsey in an infamous red bikini. Others have chosen to imprint their passions onto their designs, with Dame Judi Dench creating a Jockey Pudsey based on her love of horse racing, and Brian May creating an Astronomer Pudsey, based on his passion for Astronomy.

You have a chance to bid on these unique creations in our big auction which starts on Wednesday 6 November at 6pm and ends on Saturday 16 November at 6pm. Good evening. BBC Children in Need has launched a collection of eight very special versions of its Pudsey bear mascot to be auctioned to raise funds for the Charity. One of them is the Viva La Vida Pudsey.

Coldplay said: “Being allowed to dress Pudsey up in a Coldplay style is a massive honour. Viva La Vida Pudsey is made of trims from the actual outfits we wore in the Viva video so he's basically a band member. We hope he'll go to a great home and raise lots of money for a very important cause.”

If you would be interested in bidding for Viva La Vida Pudsey, then please contact [email protected] (using "Viva La Vida Pudsey" as the subject).

The eight bears - which also include Pudseys designed by Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Terry Wogan, Dame Shirley Bassey, Brian May, Dame Judi Dench, Joanna Lumley and Dame Helen Mirren - will be exhibited at St Pancras International station in London until 17th November.

BBC Children in Need's aim is to make a positive change to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

I wish I was going to London before the 17th, I would love to see it at St Pancras.

I wish I was! I have NO time off to go to London this side of Christmas. Sadly.

Is it only me? I feel like giving that Viva-style Pudsey bear a BIIIG HUG! Lol.

Pudsey's on tour! I visited St Pancras Station to see it, and all of them are there except Coldplay's ;p I guess he'll be coming back soon :)

So, I followed the link and can't see Viva pudsey on the auction list.

There're only 9 bears on the auction. But it should be 10 (8 original + 1D and Gary Barlow).

The one's missing is coldplay one.

Weird.

That's because of this:

If you would be interested in bidding for Viva La Vida Pudsey, then please contact [email protected] (using "Viva La Vida Pudsey" as the subject).

It's probably listed elsewhere or on eBay with a private link (if there is such a thing).

Still weird though.

Why they use different viva pudsey auction method than the others.
