Would LOVE to have Martin's jacket, but yeah I don't have $1.5K US to spare haha. Some really nice pieces there too like Jonny's guitar. Notice how none of Martin's GT20s are there, probably simply because of how hard it is to find them these days, need every one that they can get. Tash Posted November 12, 2013 Author Share Posted November 12, 2013 Coldplay sell Mylo Xyloto tour memorabilia for charity Coldplay are auctioning off memorabilia from their Mylo Xyloto world tour for charity. The band have donated instruments and stage outfits used during the shows in an online auction to raise funds for Kids Company. The charity works with vulnerable children and young people in London and Bristol. The sale comes ahead of the band's charity concert, Under 1 Roof, on 19 December at London's Eventim Apollo. They'll be joined for the show by David Brent and Foregone Conclusion, Lily Allen, Dynamo and Rizzle Kicks. The evening will be hosted by Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton. Chris Martin said: "Buying a ticket to this concert will guarantee two things: a totally unique never-to-be-repeated night of star-spangled entertainment, and money in the Christmas coffers of a charity that brings love and happiness to London's most vulnerable kids." Coldplay won best British act at the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards 2013 By Tuesday morning (12 November) a guitar used by Jonny Buckland had become the most expensive item on sale at £4,400 after 43 bids. Guy Berryman's bass is also up for sale on eBay. At the same time an outfit worn by Chris Martin had reached £2,000. Mylo Xyloto is Coldplay's fifth album and was released in October 2011. It went to number one in UK album charts and the lead single, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, was nominated for two Grammy awards. The tour, which started later that year, followed headline shows at Glastonbury and Lollapalooza and continued into 2012 in North America, Europe and Australasia. The auctions are live now and run until Sunday 17 November. The items come with authentication certificates, signed by all the band members. At the end of the song "God Put A Smile Upon Your Face", Chris often threw this guitar up into the air and allowed it to smash to the floor (you can see a video of that happening at ). I have the money to bid for one item, but I don't know what the price will be like towards the end of the auction. I don't play guitar, so for the time being, I'm focused on the outfits; particularly Chris's. It would have been so much better had the auction been in dollars rather than euros. I guess I'll see towards the end whether or not to enter the bidding. Are these the outfits they wore the entire tour or did they have several backups as well? They all had more than one outfit for the tour (or rather multiple articles of clothing as I believe it was a mix and match type of situation.) That's why all of them are at least identified by one promo photo, which may or may not represent the only time all of the articles in question were worn together.
