It could be a pen I suppose, but I'd love it if it was a song about tattoos. I might be biased because I'm kind of in love with Frank Turner and Simon Neil at the moment, both of whom are covered in tattoos :laugh3:

I like the idea of tattoo, because its permanent (relatively) and it require commitment. A nice theme that fits in with what we've heard.

I do think it's a needle, but I doubt the song is literally about a tattoo, more what it represents, as you ^ pointed out.

A little part of the lyrics:

 

"All I know is I am lost without your love… So much it hurts."

Its obviously about tattoos, probably not the entire song, but he says "so much is hurts," as in getting a tattoo.
