So Viva La Vida is and will always be my favorite album by the band and after hearing this record I could not stop thinking how much listening to this new music made me feel reminiscent of the wonder and excitement of the VLV era.聽 I know there are many diferences between this two records and that many of the songs do not compare well against each other but I wanted to try anyway so I came up with this:聽 Life In Technicolor vs. Sunrise Cemeteries Of London vs. Church Lost! vs. BrokEn 42 vs. Trouble In Town Lovers In Japan vs. Daddy Reign Of Love vs. WOTW/POTP Yes vs. Arabesque Chinesse Sleep Chant vs. When I Need A Friend Viva La Vida vs. Orphans Violet Hill vs. Guns Strawberry Swing vs. 脠k贸/Cry Cry Cry/Old Friends Death And All His Friends vs. Champion Of The World The Escapist vs. Everyday Life聽 I would like to read what do you guys think.聽 For me, Viva La Vida will always be my favorite because of what it meant to me at the time but now I have to admit that this new record it's coming surprisingly close. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Cold003 Posted November 23, 2019 Share Posted November 23, 2019 To me VLV is Coldplay at their best, so we are in the same boat. But for this comparison, I will easily go with every side of VLV except for Arabesque and Trouble in Town because I find these better than Yes and 42. I love Yes but Arabesque is phenomenal, I didn't stop listening to it since the release. 42 happened to be my least fav VLV track so I will give it a go. But, in Everyday Life's defense, several of the matchups in which I chose a Viva song were pretty tough decisions to make. There are a lot of really strong tracks on both albums.
