  • Finally a new album from the band! Haven't heard the full album yet, just the 3 pre-released songs and they're great.

Why? :bigcry:

The need to come back to Europe! :P

At least they seem to get the chance of rocking the USA withough 'just' being a support act for other big bands. Like Gary in the interview with Coldplay.com mentioned, they have to leave their egos backstage and their only challenge is to warm the crowd up.

(Sorry for any mistakes in my post now, but I started dancing to Shut Your Eyes and this is not really good for writing.)

Well, they're going back to Europe for summer festivals in July and August

Also, I have been informed by cool fans on the SP forum that the US tour as headliners is a GO! Just a matter of time for them to announce it.

So, it seems that my best shot is seeing them in Atlanta in October :D

Hi everyone... just popping in here for the first time...

I got to see Snow Patrol open the show in San Antonio this past Wednesday and was really impressed. I really didn't know any of their music (other than Chasing Cars of course), and REALLY liked them. In fact, I just got Eyes Open and have been listening to it non-stop (sorry, Coldplay!)

Wanted to tell Localola86 and Indnsky in particular, as they specifically recommended checking out their music on the SA concert thread. Thanks!!

Thanks, I saw the videos posted by Angie. They're awesome.

Also, a Coldplayer in the Indy concert thread gave me the links to his videos on Facebook, which were really good.

Coldplayers who have gone to the SP and CP concerts have shared vids and pics with me. I think they're trying to kill me :laugh3:

I was just thinking - it's a good job Gary isn't overweight, or he'd have to change his name!!:P

That's true! :laugh3:

I find his name to be kick-ass awesome since he's lean and tall.

Yesterday I allowed myself to buy a chocolate cake because of Gary's birthday.

He posted on the SP forum, a funny rant about heat and humidity in the South (of the United States) to which I replied "Welcome to my life in hot and humid Florida"

And no mention of his Birthday on that post :stunned:

OH MY FUCKING GOD

I got some awesome things from my mother's friend's brother's friend who just happens to be a Snow Patrol roadie

Y'know, signed drumskin and photo and that...

WOW, THAT IS WAY TOO AWESOME!!!!

And no mention of his Birthday on that post :stunned:

Because he posted it a day before (14th June). And I think almost everybody finds it kind of strange to talk about his/her own birthday that way, wouldn't you? I would. I probably wouldn't only if some people did something very nice or something great happened, so I HAD to tell.

Hi! could someone advise me some Snow Patrol good songs?:P thanks:)

Hm ... too many. But my personal favourites are

Shut Your Eyes

You're All I Have

Somewhere A Clock Is Ticking

The Lightning Strike (I especially love part one)

Open Your Eyes

Hands Open

It's Beginning To Get To Me

How To Be Dead

If There's A Rocket Tie It To Me

And Chasing Cars of course. :D

If you like b-sides, try and find Warmer Climate and/or The Afterlife, they are my favourite non-album tracks.

Phew, you said 'some' songs, I listed 'many'

Not "Run"??:stunned:

Sorry, Mark, 'Run' never caught me. It's great live and I love some lines, but it's really not their best song in my opinion. And it's because of 'Run' that they are often described as 'soft rockers with melodic love songs' which makes them look like not good musicians. And they are. And they damn ROCK.

Well I like soft rock melodic love songs, so there!!:P

Chasing Cars falls into that category too!:D

Yes, it does, but 'Run' reminds me of Leona's version of it which definetely killed the song for me.

Maybe it's a song that needs to grow on me.

I love soft rock melodic love songs as well, don't get me wrong, but I HATE that people think all their songs are like 'Run' and 'Chasing Cars' and that Gary only sings about his broken heart and how he misses his girlfriend. And that they can't rock. :P

I ignore idiots like that, the same as I ignore the ones who say all Coldplay fans are "gay".

What they say is totally irrelevant.:smug:

hola amigos

I think you need the Spanish thread!!:P

Of course you ignore them, they shouldn't have the attention their are looking for. ;)

But I some kind of have a problem with hit singles of a band which made them HUGE. It's 'Run' and Snow Patrol for me as it is 'Viva La Vida' and Coldplay for me.

Hola amigo? :uhoh: I don't speak Spanish, I'm sorry.

Well they wouldn't be where they are today without those songs, so I'm sure they're grateful for them....................... ;)

And Leona wouldn't have done them any harm, either!:D

The needed 'Run' and 'Chasing Cars' and Coldplay 'Viva La Vida' and I'm happy they got such success with them. But I'm even happier they have better songs. ;)

hola amiga crests hahaha

TickingClock: I can't really believe Run doesn't grow on you, I can't hahaha

Despereaux: Man can I move in with you or would you recomend me some place in Ireland to live cause you are so damn lucky, all you get I can't believe it.

Say what you want about Chasing Cars, it really is something special live.

It is. And I never said something different. ;)

@ Mig-El

Well, don't you have any Snow Patrol songs you do not love 100%? I mean, I get excited when I hear 'Run' somewhere and I like listening to it, but it isn't one of my favourites.

Not "Run"??:stunned:

Not "Crack the Shutters"!!?? :stunned:

hola amigos

¡Hola! :nice:
