  • Finally a new album from the band! Haven't heard the full album yet, just the 3 pre-released songs and they're great.

Me too

Their first albums are so brilliant !

But I love U2 anyway !

car insurance. Aha I get it. Well there is this little thing we call internet. And mostly its free.

I prefer to pay the performers for their work. ;)

Illegal downloads are killing interesting music (as record labels don't want to take risks and release endless X-factor/American Idol type bands)

I know. But Im a poor student. Dont have money for albums. And here albums are expensive.

^^ I love u2, too. They are classic.

NEW ALBUM & SINGLE TO BE RELEASED IN OCTOBER!

We are delighted to finally announce the release date for the Patrol’s fifth studio album, ‘A Hundred Million Suns’, as well as details of the first track to be taken from the LP.

The new album will be released on October 27th 2008 in the UK and October 28th in the US, the release will be preceded by the stunning new single ‘Take Back The City’ released in the UK on October 13th.

As previously reported the album was recorded through Summer 2008 in Hansa Studios in Berlin and Grouse Lodge deep in the Irish countryside with producer Garret ‘Jacknife’ Lee.

Speaking of the new album, Gary told SP.com "I'm so proud of this record. Everybody played out of their skin. Garret (Jacknife Lee) continued his progression from maverick genius to one of the best producers in the world. Musically, lyrically and sonically the best record we've made."

I am very excited about a new Snow Patrol album - 'Eyes Open' really helped me through a difficult time I had a couple of years ago! :-)

I am! I find myself periodically drawn back to the forum. I think it's time we bring the 'old-skoooolers' back :-)

mmmmmmmm Snow Patrol!

I'm VERY curious and cautious about the new album coming out.

Im a new SP fan but love their older stuff. Looking forward to the new album a lot. Heres hoping for a single in the coming week.

WORLDWIDE FIRST PLAY OF TAKE BACK THE CITY

Hello there everyone. I will be on Zane’s show on Monday evening from 7pm to play the single, Take Back The City, for the first time anywhere. It’ll be played at 7.20pm but I advise listening to the whole thing as it’s an awesome show with a deep love and knowledge of new music. I’ve been told it will be streamed on the radio one website at the same time, whatever the hell that means! I’m sure the more internet savvy of you will know what that means.

If you miss it at 7:20pm you will also be able to listen to the track again online from tuesday morning at bbc.co.uk/radio1/ as well as a snippet from the track at SP.com after the last chord has rung out on the radio.

NEW ALBUM TRACK-LISTING ANNOUNCED!

Here is the track-listing and running order for the new album:

If There’s a Rocket Tie Me To It

Crack The Shutters Open

Take Back The City

Lifeboats

The Golden Floor

Please Just Take These Photos From my Hands

Set Down Your Glass

The Planets Bend Between Us

Engines

Disaster Button

The Lightning Strike

(i)What if This Storm Ends?

(ii)Sunlight Through The Flags

(iii)Daybreak

The last song is sixteen minutes long and by far the longest we’ve ever done. Don’t be frightened though, it’s great. Although for now you’ll have to take my word for that and I’m pretty biased I have to say.

gL

^ thanks for that :D

i like it when the band's tell them their gonna get their first play.......sumtimes it's just chance that you catch it :(

Please Just Take These Photos From my Hands, sounds very Snow Patrol.

Snow Patrol for me are a good band, not essensial and not great. Final Straw was my first ever album, its a great album, their best by far.

I hope this album isn't as processed as Eyes Open. A good album but far too radio friendly (and im all for radio friendly stuff) but every so often a song was bland and uninteresting.

I hope they gain the more agressive and rocky tendensies of the likes of my favorate Snow Patrol song 'Half the fun' rather than the smoove simplicities of Chasing cars.

But it sounds like the 16 minute epic is going to be spilt down into 3 parts, ala Back To The Rivers Of Belief

But it sounds like the 16 minute epic is going to be spilt down into 3 parts, ala Back To The Rivers Of Belief

To me it sounds like its all one song, but with subtitiles. Think St Jimmy from American idiot. Else it would be a three part song, not one 16 minute epic.

Looking forward to monday, should be a good album

The Lightning Strike - What if This Storm Ends?

The Lightning Strike - Sunlight Through The Flags

The Lightning Strike - Daybreak

Is what I meant.

Does that mean I have to listen to Zane Lowe, to listen to snow patrol, listen to his horrible voice as he plays random shite

^ :laugh3: im afraid so david...at least gary has said "roughly" when it's on..........you dont have to listen to "the shit misters collective" song "im in a barrell"

...i made them up

I was about to say did the Shit Misters Collective come back together after having a modest hit back in the 80's as SMC

yes they did :D i dunno where i got "shit masters collective" from :laugh3:

i've just been watching the adam & joe telly series and i think they had summit like it :laugh3:
