I listened to the new one minute previews, I think I might be liking what I hear a little bit better, but its still not grabbing me like their other stuff. I think the whole dance / saxophone theme is leaving me a bit disconnected from the music this time around, maybe. That and the fact that some of the tracks just seem a little... boring to me. I know Sam's Town was probably a bit overblown sometimes, but I think I prefer that sound better somehow. Having said all that, I do like the sound of Losing Touch, The Dustland Fairy Tale, and This Is Your Life better than last time. Joy Ride and The World We Live In, however... not sure about those at all.

 

I don't think its going to be a bad album, but I was hoping for something on par with their first two *shrug*

 

I think I should just shut up until I hear it in full.

My best guess is we'll have the preview of the killers album on tuesday since they already uploaded the songs on myspace but there not playable yet. So we'll get to hear the full album by tuesday, I hope.

I agree. I've always liked the killers but this new album just sounds too stripped and quiet. Mostly beats and synths. Very strange

The killers have just announced that their going to be headlining the australian version of the V festival. it will be going around the eastern states of australia in late march 2009. alongside them will be snow patrol and kaiser chiefs. no sideshows announced yet but will certainly occur

 

this will be the bands 3rd visit to australia in as many years. they were the second headliners to our big out festival last january then returned for their own tour in november. alot of bands talk about how much they love touring down here but then end up coming maybe once every 4yrs. but with the killers the love seems genuine having done 5 shows in sydney last year (a very very big deal) and coming here a matter of weeks after 'somebody told me' broke through. most importantly the love is mutual!!

No, because you're obviously not a fan of either the band themselves or the direction of this album.

If you happen to be a fan of their previous work, my only suggestion to you would be to give the songs a chance, hear them in full, and they just might grow on you. I found that most songs on their last album Sam's Town grew on me, initially I didn't like them too much.

actually, i never had much intrest in the killers until recently because of the new album and human on the radio and all...

 

although after listening to a few of their songs i decided to buy "hot fuss", it seemed like the best choice :D

and i really like it... especially "on top" and "all these things that ive done"....
