Yeah, its funny like that. I was never much of a fan of 'The Scientist' and I had never seen the video. But after seeing that, and it ripping my heart out, it changed my view of the song COMPLETLEY! I almost cried in the last few seconds as the car drives back into the forest with Chris' ohh ooooo's.

Im not trying to argue. Im simply adding that as far as Politik goes, on the surface it sounds simple, yet underneath, the lyrics and bass line work away, drawing you in, until the climax where Will skillfully changes the beat and Johnnys riff changes, and the song lifts you higher than the original 'bashing' (if i can call it that) did.

 

Basically i just like the song, its hard to justify liking something that isnt so black and white.

i cried...it was the first time i'd EVER seen or heard of coldplay. but maybe i was a little emotional, because it was a day before my grandpa's funeral. its kinda strange that i'm so entralled in coldplay, i guess they took me through a dark time. :)

I liked all Coldplay songs..but then I heard 2000 miles...and no..I did not liked that song...

Yeah, sorry, I take that back about Animals and We Never Change. I've listened to them a bit since posting and they have definatley grown on me. I can't think of any Coldplay song I don't like.
