August 18, 200619 yr Aw, poor Tom! Ah, it happens to everyone. I couldn't handle one WEEK of touring, let alone a year!! (Now get better for that show where I've got front row seats!!! ;) haha)
August 18, 200619 yr Awww poor Tom! :( Hope he feels better soon...like Danielle said, I couldn't tour for a week let alone a year, it would fucking KILL me!!! Mark - I agree, UTIS is much better in my opinion too. I really wasn't too keen on Hopes&Fears, infact a little dissapointed.
August 18, 200619 yr I listen to UTIS nearly every day front to start, and it never gets boring to me. Not many albums do this, and frankly I feel like every track is a strong one that could really (and does) stand on it's own. Hopes&Fears was indeed brilliant, but...... Well, some of the tracks i do still skip over. I haven't listened to it in awhile! :\
August 18, 200619 yr ^Yeah that's exactly the same as me. I skip quite a few on Hopes & Fears...it's just not as 'listenable' to me, if that makes any sense whatsoever! I can listen to UTIS anytime! :)
August 18, 200619 yr ^Yeah that's exactly the same as me. I skip quite a few on Hopes & Fears...it's just not as 'listenable' to me, if that makes any sense whatsoever! I can listen to UTIS anytime! :) UTIS is more complex and atmospheric and evokes more emotion than H&F IMO.;) I actually got around to getting it officially today, too, as it was on special offer.;)
August 19, 200619 yr If you can find it, get hold of one of Keane's B-sides called "Fly To Me". It is the most beautiful song ever written. Tim
August 19, 200619 yr ^don't have that...can you upload it? I agree about H&F, I still skip some songs when I listen to it...but I can't sat which one I like more, to me they're both as good :nice:
August 19, 200619 yr I think UTIS and H&F's are both VERY very very good records. Technically, I think they're probably a bit equal. The songs are well put together, both have great lyrics (in different ways, they're both extremely different records!) and they're produced very well, very clean. So in many ways I don't think I could TRULY choose which I'd let "define" Keane (or certainly wouldn't know which to recommend to a new fan!!). But I think it all comes down to taste, and UTIS really fits mine at the moment. Going through a bit of an angsty time in my private life, so the lyrics really go with that. :nice: Oh man I love teh Keane. haha Seeyousoonest, I've never heard that! Interesting... I'd also like to request maybe a download link! :) If it's not too much of a trouble ;) (welcome to the forum, by the way!)
August 20, 200619 yr You guys are obviously better at describing UTIS and H&F. All that I can say is that I love UTIS and the way it makes me feel when I listen to it. I bought H&F when it came out but after that I kind of forgot about Keane, and when the new album came out I wasn't really interested. Until one day they were playing UTIS at a record store and I compleatly fell in love with it. All that I could say was "wow!"and " This is great!" out loud over and over again (I must've sounded like a crazy person:lol: ) So now I love keane  I wanted to go see them in LA on oct/7, I was about to buy tickets when I reallized that day is the birthday of one of my bestfriends. Nooooooooooooo:( I swear I'm cursed when it comes to concerts.
August 20, 200619 yr Wahey, my first upload!! Here's Fly To Me - the greatest song ever!! http://rapidshare.de/files/30150137/Keane_-_Fly_To_Me.mp3 Tim

August 21, 200619 yr Wahey, my first upload!! Here's Fly To Me - the greatest song ever!! http://rapidshare.de/files/30150137/Keane_-_Fly_To_Me.mp3 Tim Oh thanks Tim, it's been very kind of you :nice:
August 21, 200619 yr Wahey, my first upload!! Here's Fly To Me - the greatest song ever!! http://rapidshare.de/files/30150137/Keane_-_Fly_To_Me.mp3 Tim Thankyou so much Tim! :) I like it so far!
August 21, 200619 yr Thankyou so much Tim! :) I like it so far! Does that mean there's a chance you'll stop liking it??
August 21, 200619 yr You're all welcome. As it seems to be going down better than my Coldplay uploads at the moment, here's a few more for you: Two more K&F B-sides: Snowed Under http://rapidshare.de/files/30255943/Keane_-_Snowed_Under.mp3 Walnut Tree http://rapidshare.de/files/30256789/Keane_-_Under_The_Walnut_Tree.mp3 To The End Of The Earth (Demo) http://rapidshare.de/files/30257287/To_The_End_Of_The_Earth.mp3 (This was a H & F B-side, but this is the demo version as I can't find the single version at the moment  Allemande (an early b-side) http://rapidshare.de/files/30254933/Allemande.mp3 Closer Now (2nd version) http://rapidshare.de/files/30254552/03_-_Closer_Now.mp3 (This was a really early B-side, although this isn't that! It sounds like a later re-recording as it's much more H&F-like, despite the acoustic guitar! Anyone with more info about this, let me know. It occurred to me that if you're not in the UK, you may only have the 11-track albums, in which case here's the two missing tracks: On A Day Like Today (H & F track 10) http://rapidshare.de/files/30255388/Keane__On_A_Day_Like_Today.mp3 The Iron Sea (UTIS track 8) http://rapidshare.de/files/30256489/Keane_-_The_iron_sea.mp3 Finally, just for something different, here's Keane's version of U2's With Or Without You! http://rapidshare.de/files/30257057/Keane_-_With_Or_Without_You__U2_Cover_-_Live_Lounge_-_Radio_1_.mp3 Meanwhile, can I put in a request for two vinyl-only tracks to any Keane completists? Your Eyes Open (Mo Mental Mix) We Might As Well Be Strangers (DJ Shadow Instrumental Mix) Oh, and the radio session from the German H & F double CD! :laugh3: Meanwhile, enjoy. Tim
August 21, 200619 yr Great job sharing, thanks so much Tim! :) I have all these from past downloads, but I'm sure others dont. I really recommend the bsides, they're great (Snowed Under is my favorite song ever). Hmmmm.... I don't have any of those..... Maybe check around the official Keane forum, they might have a download section? I'm not sure... (I don't have the link at the moment, sure someone does though... ;) )
August 21, 200619 yr Thanks Danielle! I was wondering if there was a forum similar to this one, with lots of, erm, exchanging and everything! Anyone know the link? Tim
August 21, 200619 yr Here's the link, I've never really looked around for downloads so I don't know how good it is there. But you can check it out, I know people are nice around there (haven't visited in a long time): http://217.154.142.24/keane/forum/
August 21, 200619 yr Thanks Danielle, have just joined. It all seems a bit too - I can't put my finger on it, really. Perhaps I'm just too old!! But I get the impression they'd all faint if the word "upload" was mentioned!! :laugh3: Tim
August 21, 200619 yr haha, yeah. I think the demographic around that forum is probably younger, I'll have to look around and see if there's a good place to find Keane stuff being shared. I've gotten most of my downloads from this thread though, so I dunno. Damn, they're not like U2! Not yet, anyways. They don't have complete websites dedicated to unreleased songs... :laugh4:
August 21, 200619 yr Thanks again - would be great if you could find one! And as for that U2 site - that sounds like my kind of place! Then again, I should get out more ... :D Tim
August 21, 200619 yr And I need something to cheer me up - Keane are opening their UK tour in my hometown of Hull - and I haven't got a ticket  . Because they went on advance sale two days before payday  . Tim
August 22, 200619 yr Tim maybe I have the two tracks you're searching for...and as stupid as I am I already had Fly to me :embarassed: I really need to organise the music in my laptop, because I have many B-sides from Keane...and yes I love Snowed under too :nice: like some other bands their b-sides are just as good as the "a-sides", if not better  Oh and I uploaded the vids from Radio 1's Big Weekend here I also have the Pinkpop vids so if somebody wants tell me and I'll upload them ;)
August 22, 200619 yr Thanks Denise, that would be great if you could find them :D . I think we all should start a keaneplaying.com type of thing - if I had the remotest clue about how to do it, that is! If there's anything recordwise anyone is looking for, let me know and I'll see if I've got it somewhere. Tim
