December 9, 200817 yr ANYWAYS-NESS. Back on topic. This album is brilliant, but I cannot get over DLZ. It is just so good, and I think the rest of the album suffers for it. Those first three songs are pretty great though. Yeah, I love DLZ. Have been listening to it non stop the last few days. I agree with what you said about the second half of it being really good. I'd say there is only really one or two weak tracks in the middle, but the rest are ace.
December 10, 200817 yr I really love Dancing Choose and it's probably in my top 10 favorite songs of the year, but I don't know where to go from there. I don't really like Golden Age, so any suggestions of what to listen to next?
December 10, 200817 yr how much of the album have you listened to? Be sure to listen to DLZ and Shout Me Out.
December 12, 200817 yr I listened to Dear Science for the first time last night and I love it. Definitely one of the best albums this year. Don't know what took me this long to check it out. Crying, DLZ, and Golden Age are my favorites so far.
January 12, 200917 yr I know TVOTR since their first album Return to Cookie Mountain, but I have just bought dears sciences, and for me it is one of the best album released in 2008,I recommend it to everyone, especially the songs crying or Stork and owl
January 13, 200917 yr ^ One of my fav albums....although Return To Cookie Mountain wasn't their first album ;)
January 13, 200917 yr By the way I'm a now a proud owner of Dear Science on CD and it's amazing. Shout Me Out and Lovers Day are epic!
January 13, 200917 yr yes you was right I was wrong, because it is with this album that I've discovered them that's why :)
January 15, 200917 yr Their new album is growing on me, I'm really liking the songs "Crying", "Golden Age", "Halfway Home" and "Love Dog"
February 8, 200917 yr TV on the Radio on SNL tonight!!! And I am watching right now... their album might have high revues, but their live performance was not impressive. OK, their instrumentals were good, but jeez! For two black guys doing vocals, they really sucked! Sorry, I have Return to Cookie Mt. album, but they really are not good live! You can hate me but I gave this performance :thumbs down:
February 8, 200917 yr I think the exact opposite. The recordings are quite hard to get into (though much rewarding at the end) but everything I've seen of them live so far is mindblowing. TVOTR on Colbert though, now THAT should be interesting.
February 8, 200917 yr ^What night is that on again? And yeah, I thought the SNL show was awesome. While the vocals may not be quite as sharp I think they are much tighter and intense live. Or as jamie (deaths_friend) says: edgier.
February 9, 200917 yr Dancing Choose rocked as per usual. Tunde Adebimpe is a really amazing showman! Golden Age though geez, it wouldn't have hurt to do some vocal exercises beforehand or something.
February 10, 200917 yr Agree on better Colbert performance... but still that bearded dude needs some singing lessons... he sings off key both nights... I think the rest of band was good though!
February 10, 200917 yr Agree on better Colbert performance... but still that bearded dude needs some singing lessons... he sings off key both nights... I think the rest of band was good though! Yeah, he does need to work on his vocals live a little. Did you see the interview beforehand? It was hilarious. wooohooo i'm finally into TV on the Radio. i feel cool :) :glasses2: I first listened to them back in 2006 when they released Return to Cookie Mountain. Then didn't really listen to them again until Dear Science.
May 14, 200917 yr they broadcast TVOTR's concert from late january in sydney onthe radio this past monday. it was a spectacular performance that i wish i had the chance to record. i will ATTEMPT to do so when it is re-broadcast on sunday afternoon. but i'm sure one of the countless tv on the radio fans in australia recorded it. now i just need to hunt it down.
