Wow...I have fallen in love with this music!

I got "Takk" last week...and when I first listened to it I couldn't really understand why people love this music so much....

I just listened to the first 2 minutes of the songs...

Yesterday when I went to bed I thought i should listen to the WHOLE album again...maybe I will change my opinion...

and I did!

I loved it....and I still do..hehe...

great.....aww...

If you're new to Sigur Rós I suggest you give 'Takk' a listen. That's what I did' date=' and it's the most accesible album in my opinion.[/quote']

couldn't say it better myself, BUT

even if it's their easiest record, it's far not their best. for many reasons AB and ( ) beat Takk...easily

Agaetis Byrjun is their best recording, close to perfect, if it's not perfect already. same with ( ), amazing album, but harder and a bit weaker than AB, but i think ( ) would be in my top 20 albums of all time.

Takk is good, but a bit disappointment considering Sigur Ros' previous 2 succeses. i quite liked Takk some months ago, but now after almost a year after it's release it doesn't sound as great and beatiful as ( ) or AB

if i have to rate the albums...

Agaetis Byrjun - 9.8/10

( ) - 8.9/10

Takk - 7.9/10

Von 7.0/10

^ My only problem with Takk is that there're only 3 proper songs in there... The rest of the album is built around these 3 tracks. And although glossoli' date=' saeglopur[/i'] and gong are mindblowingly beautiful, they're not quite enough to carry the whole album through. IMO, the band didn't quite make enough of the remaining material to make it a really satisfying listen.

could be a possiblity. but then again, () would have the same problem. Sigur ros works on layers, they start little by little adding instrument by instrument, so yeah, there's a possibilty the songs sound alike in an album. I dont see it as repetitive, only as like a common theme.

:nice:

Oh man, I just listened to Glosoli for the first time....and WOW....:o.....I can't believe I didn't discover this band earlier....simply beautiful.

*copied from my myspace here: http://www.myspace.com/rocknserve friend me there, I post a lot of pictures in my blog :) I like to get feedback ;) *

Photos from Sigur Rós' set at the Oxegen Festival in Ireland, on my 18th birthday. What an incredible, INCREDIBLE band. If you ever get a chance, definately go check them out live. Just pure sound, pure emotion. How music should be enjoyed.

Jónsi is such a genius.

I've no problems with layers / common themes, in fact I really admire and generally do like bands that try to do that... All that effort they put into their music really does show :nice: It's just that I felt that in Takk, Sigur Ros didn't have enough new ideas in the album - the music didn't move (ie. change) fast enough. And there weren't enough moments to lift the album into the "absolutely brilliant" category.

* And I need to edit the 3 songs I were referring to :embarassed: : I meant Hoppipolla, Saeglopur and Gong :P

great pics there! would love to even have a chance of seeing them live, I've read these boys can create quite special moods on stage

lmfao wow, thanks. LMFAOOOO

I feel like someone just built me up towards orgasm.... then stuck a cactus in there.

:emotears:

My camera's shit with the zoom, I was on an angle, and they're not exactly the most exciting band to photograph. Not much extreme movement throughout the set. I tried my best to get detailed shots, but by the end of the set I was so busy crying I decided I'd just go for the artistic element. Oops.

...I got Agaetis byrjun today....

and it definitely beats Takk and ()...when I listened to Takk first some weeks ago i thought "damn...they make beautiful music...aaawwwww....".....then i got () and at first I didn't like it that much...but after listening to it I began to like it and i even thought it is a bit better than Takk....

so today i got Agaetis byrjun.....and I don't now what to say..there is not much missing at some songs and it would be perfect (if perfect did exist..hehe...)

so brilliant beautiful..................great....

Now i want to see them live....

All I can say....today I realised again what music can do to you....so affective...how music can touch your feelings....your soul...ah I should stop talking...
