I absolutely agree with you. That's how I view X&Y, too. Imho the flow on AROBTTH is better, making it the best masterpiece but X&Y is a grandiose collection of individual masterpieces.

I usually avoid it nowadays too, because when I say I like Coldplay people seem to think hat equals Newplay. Once I said I don't like pop music, and in the next sentence that I like Coldplay. Next I was told "Oh, but Coldplay are totally pop !" That's why I avoid it. Or I have to begin saying things like "BUT, I only like their first three/four albums"...

To me, it's the other way round - loved the vibe of the live version but the production of the studio version killed it off for me.

It's been out for weeks now and even though I tried listening to it a lot, it still feels as empty and generic to me as it felt when I first heard it on the BBC radio liveplayer.

Ross made several homophobic comments, is I think generally one of the more vulgar radio hosts and in 2008 he talked about Gwyneth Paltrow saying he "would f*** her"...especially considering the latter, makes me wonder why Chris agreed to go there.
