Yeah, of course I still have (very, very small though) hopes for the album. Aside from that, I know tastes in music vary a lot and are always subjective, but it annoys me when people say Everglow is better than What If and Fix You. I wanna live in this thread.

Heard Everglow right now and it confirms to me that Coldplay have lost their unique ability write magically outstanding songs. Welcome, blandness and mediocrity. Everglow is such a mediocre ballad - you know, it's not particularly good and it is not particularly bad either, it's as mediocre as a song can get. And when that happens, you know the spark of art has died.

That's not true. What If and Fix You have both got unique vocals, melodies instrumentation and are not full of standard pop tropes. X&Y was when Coldplay still could do outstanding music.

Horrible song. I listened to it three times now. Average 2000s pop ballad, nothing interesting or moving about it. Could have been sung by Shania Twain in 2002. And can Chris's vocals get any more scratchier than this ?

And I much rather listen to Hello than AOAL. Of course the old Coldplay songs are better, but I really understand when Oldplay fans rather listen to Adele than to the band's newest music.
