  1. I'm still in denial about the complete lack of an Irish date on the AHFOD tour.
  2. No Violet Hill :( Swallowed In The Sea more than makes up for it though!
  3. Lost! 2 Lovers in Japan 8
  4. Umi makes no sense. This isn't a concept album. Is it possible that we're all mistaken and the correct lyrics are "To me she'd say" rather than "Umi she'd say"? Honestly the lyrics have really declined since Mylo Xyloto. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a random syllable Chris threw in to match the melody.
  5. It is genuine rubbish. I'm not saying this just to hate but like you said, up against the earlier work it just magnifies how bad Coldplay have become. I never thought listening to X&Y at 15 that this band that I cherished would end up releasing something as banal and generic as all the pop music I hated on the radio. Really puts into perspective their fall from grace, MX looks like Viva in comparison!
  6. I would like to hear this. Did anybody record this interview?
  7. The real Coldplay was killed off in 2005 and replace with more effeminate lookalikes :P
  8. I feel so ashamed :laugh3: I must go listen to the pre-Parachutes stuff to feel normal again.
  9. Surprisingly I do actually like it and for the most part I hate EDM. I think it's the dynamic of adding Chris's voice to this brash and loud mix. The actual version that made it onto the record is, like was mentioned above, very lukewarm. (I also like the picture on the video so this probably subconsciously influenced my thinking :P)
  10. Guy being interviewed because his insights are always fascinating. MX colour scheme vs AHFOD colour scheme.
  11. I am currently listening to this!! Holy Moly I've never heard this version for some reason, why couldn't this edit be the one they settled on?!
  12. Yes! I was big into it when I was a teenager. It was all legal though, part of a street art project. Have you ever broken something that wasn't yours and just never mentioned it?
  13. I can't stress enough how I just hate AHFOD in it's entirety, it's just not Coldplay... :( Has made me really appreciate the better tracks on GS and all of MX (minus Rihanna)
  14. EVERY.SINGLE.DAY Have you ever fallen down the stairs?
  15. O. It's not even close.
  16. I love X&Y.
  17. The ambivalence towards the modern world and music industry and the bands uncertainty and doubt about their own place in music and their own future really propelled AROBTTH to be the modern masterpiece it is. The bands comfort and confidence nowadays creates that sense of triviality in the newer material. Even the newer stuff with even a sense of insecurity (Ghost Story, All Your Friends, Moving To Mars) is sidelined in favour of bland and unispired pop such as True Love, Ink, Up In Flames etc.
  18. I would be more than happy to lend a hand in any way I can. I would love for this to come to fruition.
  19. Unwilling to, not unable to. Although they played A Whisper live during the GS era which was a great surprise. I don't see this in the realm of impossibility.
  20. I don't know how the rest of you feel, but I re-listened to AHFOD today and I've come to the conclusion that AHFOD is just a sub-par, dumbed down version of MX. Atleast MX has a sort of rockiness to it that's completely absent in AHFOD.
