Me too. Hate to be the guy who says it, but these lyrics are very, very similar to GS.

I know. Would they put us out of our misery and announce the tour already?

It's so annoying that people are so arrogant as to talk when the best band in the world are doing a cover of the best song ever written. Sad really, hope another version will pop up.

Great read. Knew the story from the Martin Roach biography but enjoyed the article nonetheless :)

Certainly. It's not something that annoys me too much, but it just goes to show they've lost whatever 'edge' they had left. Nothing seemed to highlight it more than in a recent interview where Chris refused to say anything negative about Donald Trump in fear of alienating people. This is the same Chris who had no problem getting up at award ceremonies and stridently claiming he doesn't like "George Bush and all those guys" This is also the same band who had a faux political, sociological song and video poking fun at major establishment figures and lamenting the violent state of conflict in the world. I just can't see them doing anything with that kind of creative nuance ever again.

It's been explained a million times it's not implicit change we don't like, rather uninspired and bland change. I have no problem with Coldplay changing their sound (VLV was a great record was it not?) I just want them to continue with the same level of artistic authenticity and ambition they had pre Viva. If say for example GS had been a Kid A like album where the tracks followed the lead of Midnight's ambient experimentalism, I wouldn't be here having this conversation with you but instead we have songs like True Love, ASFOS etc. It's not that I'm averse to change like you suggest, it's the simple fact their earlier work is superior on every possible artistic level. Their work is a paradox. It seems to get more juvenile and less mature as it goes on. The early work was far more refined.

It's funny you should say that. One of the things that made Coldplay stand out to me in the beginning was their charity work and political stances (Against the Iraq War) I like U2 for much the same reasons.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
You've got that right. Probably just a hyperbolic statement fans tend to make when anything new is released. "It's the best riff they've ever done!" "That's the best use of the cowbell they've ever done!" "Wow, just great. Chris's dancing has never been better!" You tend to hear this stuff all the time.

It must be a sample of this: [video=youtube;IN05jVNBs64] Seems there's going to be no respite from the silliness on this album.

As much as I want to see it, I'm not willing to give them my credit card information. Usually these "one month free" trials end and automatically bring you on to a paid subscription if you don't cancel. More headache than it's worth.

Amazing Day
Still can't get over the praise this song is getting. People going as far as to call it a "masterpiece" If you think Amazing Day is a masterpiece (:laugh3:) I'd suggest you'd go listen to Parachutes, you might then learn the definition of a masterpiece. If this is the only bland song on the album I'll be very happy.
