  1. I was such an idiot and gave mine back to be recycled thinking I was doing the environmental thing but now I want it back!!!
  2. Has anyone bought any of the new merchandise? I just pre ordered the butterfly and love in Tokyo shirts. I thought they were so cute.
  3. Goodness I just listened to Sleeping Sun for the first time.:heart::heart::sun:
  4. YESSSSSSS!!!! Synopsis sounds wonderful.
  5. It is very much like this for me and why I struggle to listen to other artists' discographies. While I used to ruminate and be down a lot and wallow in it, now I like to be uplifted by music and Coldplay consistently does that for me.
  6. Does anyone feel like he's lost weight too? Very AROBTTH era! Like how does one age backwards?
  7. Frustrating us all in an IDGAF way it seems lol. Let the fans eat cake! They'll be alright sigh guess we will.
  8. I'm an "allplayer" but agree that especially with Mumford &Sons the instrumentation is what I loved equally to vocals and it has died more and more each album.
  9. Well it's like that stand up routine where he talks about how the luckiest person in the world is "the drummer from Coldplay" bc he is insanely rich yet gets to live a private life, all whilst sitting down!
  10. Welcome! I only joined about a year ago and this is the nicest bunch of folks on the internet I've encountered. ❤
  11. Lights will guide you home And ignite your bones And I will try to fix you Gravity
  12. It is so interesting how differently songs are interpreted. I will admit at first I also wasn't a fan of Fun. But after I understood more about what went down between Chris and his ex wife it made sense to me and then it broke my heart a bit. So without understanding context it might seem corny but then I realized it just might be a plea not to think a relationship was a waste just because it was over. That was powerful to me.
  13. It just occurred to me recently how one sided it can be when you listen to a heart breaking song by an artist you love, and want to be able to respond back, "YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, IT WILL BE OK EVEN THOUGH IT RIGHT NOW SEEMS LIKE IT WON'T" Then you remember it is years later and they are fine and now you are wrecked anyway.
  14. I think Coldplay is just trying to teach us a message about hope and patience.:p:grinning:
  15. I feel like Coldplay music follows me wherever I go. Over the past few days while out and about have heard AOAL, Speed of Sound, and a female singer cover Up & Up in public spaces.
  16. Nah they just taking break. Pretty much by the end of AHFOD tour they started getting tired of folks asking that and said it wasn't happening on more than one occasion, and multiple band members said it. Chris is just a live in the moment guy and often says an album could be their last because he doesn't take their success for granted. Plus Dave Holmes and Phil Harvey said they'd be back but probably not touring until 2021.
  17. A Message is the song I used to rock my colicky baby to and sing to her. Yellow makes me think of my husband because he introduced Coldplay to me with that song. and then the whole Parachutes album. Don't Panic reminds me to chill out when I am having an anxiety spiral. Paradise reminds me of being a gawky kid who got bullied and had some traumas, but stayed optimistic and worked hard and grew up to have a pretty rad life.
  18. I have the same thought about Green Eyes due to also having green eyes and also got to see them play it last tour. :)
  19. There may be a thread like this already so redirect me if needed. I have so many but will only do one at a time because it will be too long otherwise. Warning Sign was the first song that helped save me in a crisis. Someone I deeply loved, literally one of the people I was closest to in my life from a young age, died of cancer and Warning Sign was the song that both shamed me for not being available to that person as much as I should have been and at the same time felt like i was beseeching them to forgive me. I played it over and over and eventually felt forgiven. I still listen to it and feel that connection 14 years later.
  20. I am thinking newish. As much as I appreciated how Coldplay has done pop I could use more guitars and bass rock in the future personally. But I do think it depends on the direction of music in the next 3 years. Their staying power has been their ability to remain relevant for multiple generations. I can't complain about that!
  21. I'm sure they love this, messing with us. Keeping us guessing.
  22. Listening to Yellow for the billionth time and realizing how much Chris no longer sings in a British accent. I miss that.
  23. Hmm some of the trivia on reddit seems off compared to what I have been able to gather from biographies and interviews. But what do I even know lol. My favorite Coldplay trivia is probably that Chris found Jonny at uni by hearing him play guitar late at night in his dorm room. He knew instantly Jonny was his missing piece. ❤
  24. I watched 2016 BBC AHFOD mini concert and he clearly sang it there. He can still sing it. If he didn't sing it during the stadium tour it was because the man is literally singing over 20 songs over 2 hours. It is a safe vocal break.
