  1. *giggles* I don't see how anyone could compare the two, but there is one similarity....when I saw cats at the local theatre, during the intermission some of the actors were wandering around the aisles on all fours... one was even pretending to chase a mouse or something... Chris kinda reminds me of it when he starts to go around like the bear during talk...
  2. I'm obviously not too familiar with London... but it would be cool to see them around old haunts like UCL or places they played their first gigs. "We were he when we wrote this song" type stuff. I was there when I met ___ for the first time... *getting very intrigued about what this is all about* :surprised:
  3. It's like some sort of a wacky sociology experiment or something... :stunned: weirdness.
  4. When the Night Feels My Song - Bedouin Soundclash I just learned it on guitar... granted I can't play it very well, but I tried, anyway.
  5. It's an off key robot-ish version of the main guitar riff... sort of like the robot got their song stuck in it's head or something...
  6. an_cat, I think thats the single most intelligent thing I've heard anyone say about the whole thing yet... thanks.
  7. Chris finally got to do something in outer space without Will veto-ing it... So cheesy, but so so so funny... Great Video
  8. It's not so random, actually it's downright confusing!! :dizzy: The regulars on http://www.thefuselage.com -a website that JJ Abrams set up for the show last year- have been calling themselves fusies for ages now. Everytime someone mentions fusies now i have to clarify if they mean the fans or the characters.
  9. an_cat, the writers say they usually call the original group the "fusies" and the new group the "tailsies". ...Speaking of which, has anyone listened to the Lost podcasts up on the abc website? The fluffy bits are kind of dry, but when the head writers take over- (Damon Lindelhoff and Carlton Cuse)- there are actually some answers- and a lot of dry, funny jokes. It's worth a listen, anyway.
  10. I can't for the life of me remember where I heard it, I can't find it again, and it was awhile ago so my memory is a bit fuzzy... but anyway, I remember hearing an interview with Danny McNamara from Embrace, where he talked about how Coldplay had actually done a studio recording of Gravity with some string arrangements(?!), way back before they ever gave the song to Embrace. If I remembered that right, maybe that old recording is the version that's going on the dvd. Anyway, if anyone else remembers hearing whatever the hooey I'm talking about, I would be glad to know where it is, and that I'm not loosing my mind... :uneasy:
  11. http://entertainment1.sympatico.msn.ca/Celebs/Gossip/ContentPosting.aspx?contentid=5ef6b29d40e64cbfba05db17b872273f&show=False&number=0&showbyline=False&subtitle=&detect=&abc=abc Check this out Is it just me, or has the media been going out of it's way lately to make Gwyneth look like some sort of nutcase? "Close friend" indeed.
  12. hmm... maybe that's the problem... it's too cold up here for the grass to grow properly... don't mind me... I'm sulking. :sad2:
  13. You think you're annoyed! The talk the tour thing is for the North American tour, but you have to be a US resident to enter. Canadians can't, even though part of the tour is here. And people wonder how we ended up with a national inferiority complex. At least in Europe there is hope of them doing something like this eventually.
  14. Hey curlyfry, what class is this for? It sounds interesting, but I think you might be having some trouble for a reason. Chris talks alot about how he doesn't usually write songs about one specific thing, but instead he writes about the feelings that things inspire. So like other people said, I don't think that you're ever going to get one specific meaning or political message from any song. He has said before that he likes it when people can interpret a song in their own way so that it has personal meaning for them. I'm afraid I don't know where to find any of them again, but in some old interviews Chris has mentioned that Politik was meant to be about a series of personal beliefs and thoughts about the world. It isn't making a specific political statement, it's just expressing some feelings, which would kind of make sense if it was written right after 9/11. I remember being pretty emotional myself, but I had nothing to direct it at; the world was just a jumble. I guess the song kind of reflects that sort of confusion in a way. It seems to be saying I don't know what's going on, but I still know that this and this is true. If there was one cause that might be a bit relevant, it would probably be Make Trade Fair, but I don't know how much the guys were into that at the time. I don't think Oxfam had approached them yet when they wrote the song, but feel free to correct me on that. If you look around for old magazine articles online, you might find something. In late 2002 there would have been alot of album breakdowns. The official coldplay.com site might have something too. I know that ezine #6 has a blurb of all the arobtth songs. I don't know how you could cite this as a source in a school paper, but gas_man uploaded a cd with interviews about arobtth in his upload thread. The links are dead now, but I re-uploaded the one where Chris talks about writing Politik. It has a fair bit of info in it. Here you go: http://rapidshare.de/files/7293305/62_-_Chris_-_So__Politik._Not_Normally_Spelt_With_A_K._Why_That_Way_.mp3.html Anyway, I rambled for alot longer than I meant to, but I hope that something in there might help. Keep us updated on how it goes, ok? ;) Good Luck.
  15. ^ Don't you dare breath a word!!!!! I've actually managed to stay spoiler free this season! (Last year I was a spoiler junkie... it really takes away from the big surprises) Great... so someone else is dying...
  16. Serenity 9/10 if you like sci fi... it was mind blowing- really well done a little less for people who can't get their heads around a good space opera
  17. 13 pages. 13.  *sigh*
  18. Shouldn't this be in the album section?
  19. I Ran Away is one of my 3 all time favorite Coldplay songs. Murder, One I Love, and 1.36 are really fun. For You and I Bloom Blaum are really nice ones to fall asleep to- very soothing. Awesome when you're awake, too.
  20. Of course they wouldn't come to the east coast. No one good ever comes to the east coast. Sure, we could fill a venue as well as anyone... just check out the turnout for the Rolling Stones concert in Moncton. It's the distance that kills... 12 hours or so by bus for the crew... *wanders off to sulk*
  21. KM- the jazz thing is from a nappies-like video that the boys made a while back called Making of A Rush of Blood to the Head. Check it out- it's absolutely hilarious, as usual. http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22174 -I checked it, the rapidshare link still works.
  22. I like :D The acoustic pics turned out awesome! :o
  23. Muse... so many different people on Coldplaying are always going on about them... I can definatly see why now... :wink3: No one I know had even heard of them, unfortunatly.
