I agree with you Camille, I also don't know where I am on this and think there was much more that went on that day than we know of. I saw this so long ago, I don't want to watch it again. Either way you look at it, these people are dead. So what can we do about it now...

THE VEGETARIAN THREAD.
Well, since I'm not vegan I do eat cheese. I don't drink milk though, just because it makes me sick (I don't think I'm lactose intolerant, but who knows, maybe I am  ). I honestly don't think I could live without cheese.... But I get Happy Cow cheese, which is apparently from... happy cows. Ones that don't get killed after providing all their milk. I get it at the nice organic store down here in the city. :wink3:

Is HTDAAB better than X&Y?

ANOTHER TIME, ANOTHER PLACE! dooo DO DO DO DO! Damn. I love that song. Ok, yeah it's really late and I admit I read none of that. I did catch the How Good Are Coldplay thing. Um dude, I think it's pretty obvious how much we all like Coldplay.

Is HTDAAB better than X&Y?
He wears them because he has a sensitivity to light. It's a medical condition, probably a result of his spending so much time in the spotlight and having pictures taken. Also, when he buys his sunglasses the proceeds go to African Relief. Just for your information. Oh, and I agree with you on the beanie thing. He looks much hotter without it. :wink3: Gah, I'm sorry. Was that too much information?

U2
Definately understand what you're saying. I loved Paul singing with them at Live8, that was just classic. Things like that I don't mind at all, but I draw the line when someone starts murdering a song. I do like the new meaning it's taken on. What I was trying to say (but didn't really succeed in saying) in my other post was how Bono said himself that he tried to stop the One Campaign being called that. He didn't want people confusing it with the song, or whatever. I don't think that One should be a protest song, or an angry song. When I hear it at concerts it's more a time of reflection, a time for me to just cry and sing along. When Mary J. Blige sang it, though, she turned it into some huge... I don't know. Really pissed off song.  It bugged me to no end. During the Hurricane Relief Concert I didn't mind it at all, I was pretty pissed off about the whole thing and I identified with that. Oh well. They should have played all of Vertigo then played One ALONE. I would have been really happy. Or City of Blinding Lights! That was what they won Best Rock Song for, right? :idea2:

What's your typing style?
I have no idea, but I always tend to type too much. Honestly, sometimes I can never shut up... And I do use a lot of "..."s. And "LMFAO"'s.

Is HTDAAB better than X&Y?
coldplay_97, thank you. I accept your apology for blowing up, but I hope you know that that was not a way to portray it. If you first said what you just typed, then I would have completely left you alone. I might not agree, but that's ok! People like you, though, do make me want to leave this place and go to Interference and hang out with the "U2 fags". Because sometimes I can't stand how immature people can be around here. That still ticks me off, what you said. Got to say... But I'll forget about it and over look it. And hey, one less U2 fan to compete with for tickets when they go on sale, eh? I almost feel happy when I hear people aren't U2 fans.  lmfao kelli mmmmmmm

Is HTDAAB better than X&Y?
Calm down sweetheart. I've also seen Coldplay. And I love Coldplay. And I love U2. And I'm not a "fag". I don't respect people who call people names through a monitor. I really don't. You immediately assume that I'm not a Coldplay fan because I'm defending U2, well guess what: You're dead wrong. I was a Coldplay fan BEFORE being a U2 fan. I listen to both almost equally. Both elevate my soul higher than any other band. To be respected, you should voice your opinion and stance on a subject eloquently. Or you're not going to get any kind response back. Back up your opinions rather than just saying they're "old farts". Ok, tell me how similiar HTDAAB is to the 'Boy' album. Make a relation between the lyrical content of 'Pop' to 'War'. Explain to me exactly where the delay effects are in Bomb. Then contrast this to the guitar work in 'Achtung Baby'. Why don't you try doing that instead of just blindly insulting a band I can tell you don't have much knowledge about. I'm tired of people insulting these four men. I AM NOT SAYING U2 IS BETTER THAN COLDPLAY. Ok??? I feel the use of caps is necessary here, because obviously the fact that I'm a member of a Coldplay community isn't enough to portray this. If you're going to insult Bono, then tell me you've met him. And then tell me exactly what he did to you to deserve your hate. Because I've stood within two feet from the man for over 2 hours, and he's never done anything to portray arrogance or cruelty. Again: It's an unfounded opinion. Yeah, they're old. Coldplay's getting up there too. So what are you going to say about them in 20 years? Old farts? Hate their old stuff? Hate their new stuff because they're "trying to make rock"? Good for you. Then you never liked them in the first place. If you still love them in 20 years, then you're a true fan. And that's what a lot of U2 fans are. True fans, because they still love them after 25 years. Will we all still be here on Coldplaying when we're 40+? Let's hope so. So stop playing the age card and get some real evidence to U2's suckiness. EDIT: Oh, and I forgot to add: Touche! :D

Ever been in therapy?
I've been in therapy since October, with a session once a week. I also see a psychiatrist. Both people I really respect, and they have helped me beyond anything. It wasn't really a choice of mine to go, my parents basically made the decision for me. My dad's a psychiatrist, too, so I guess before I went I wasn't extremely worried, because I don't have that strange fear of doctors. I live with one! I think everyone should have a therapist of some kind. It's nice to have an unbiased opinion towards things that you think and feel. Even if you feel perfectly happy, there's always something that you can work on inside yourself. I was a bit nervous going to the first session, but then again I have an anxiety disorder so I get nervous about EVERYTHING. Still, I had no idea what I was going to say. The second I walked in, though, my therapist made it very comfortable. I had my U2 shirt on and she immediately asked me if I liked them, and I told her yes. She asked me if I had seen them and I told her about the two times I had and the two more times I was going to. It was very nice, she did ask some personal questions, but that's to be expected. There's no reason to be scared of psychiatrists or therapists. There are, like any professional, the bad ones. You should ask around before you make an appointment. But once you find someone good and trustworthy, then it can be the best 15 dollar copay you ever use. ;)

The official **THIS BAND/PERSON SUCKS** Vent Thread
There are a lot of bands that I think suck, but I don't want to voice my opinions because there'll always be someone else who loves them. And really, I'm sick of hearing people insulting bands that I love. I know how much it hurts. So I won't even go there. On that note... Ashlee Simpson.

U2
I didn't totally mind Mary J Blige during the hurricane relief concert, but I don't know... I think I'm a bit selfish with the guys. I really just like listening to THEM, and that's it. To me, the song 'One' isn't some angry FUCK THE WORLD song, to be screamed for all to hear. It's a bittersweet love song. Sure, many of the lyrics can be applied to modern day circumstances (such as poverty, or AIDS relief for Africa. Especially the whole "carry each other" line). But over all I think the song is a hymn. I felt Mary J. Blige killed that during the performance. It's too bad this song has been taken and turned into some weird marketing device... I don't know how to explain it. You know what I mean? It's a beautiful song, it means a lot to me, it's probably one of the (if not, the) most recognizable U2 songs. But I feel like a little bit of the real meaning of the song (at least to me) is being taken away by all the hype surrounding it... I don't know, I kind of lost my train of thought during that. I love hearing 'One' live, I think it's an amazing moment, with the cell phones in particular. I love hearing Bono singing it, but JUST Bono.

Is HTDAAB better than X&Y?
Actually, I'd say Edge and B look more alive in that picture than Coldplay does... lmfaooooo Dude, I saw U2 four times in concert this past year. I think they're pretty fucking alive. So don't give me that bullshit, ok? Because you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

U2
Oh man, Vertigo friggin' OWNZ when played live. I absolutely love the song after all the shows I went to. I remember in October, when I was on the rail, I was rocking out SO much to Vertigo that I was sweating after it ended!   Really, really great. I was never too impressed by 'Elevation' before I heard it live, either. But I love what they did with it this tour, with the audience interaction. So much fun!
