  1. :laugh3: I like the way you think! Not totally certain an indie label would save them at this stage though.
  2. What is this I can't even begin to....
  3. Potentially good songs remaining on MX Mylo Xyloto Hurts Like Heaven Charlie Brown Us Against The World MMIX Major Minus UFO Up In Flames A Hopeful Transmission Don't Let It Break Your Heart Up With The Birds I don't want to get rid of any more.
  4. It's about to get worse. Just read an article claiming Rihanna will feature on MX.
  5. ON THE FUCKING MONEY! As each day passes I grow less excited for Mylo Xyloto.
  6. I figured I'd best start this thread up, as we had similar threads for ETIAW and Christmas Lights. Maybe it's because ETIAW has grown on me a little bit in the past few months but on first impressions I'm even less impressed by this. Whilst it's not an awful song, it does feel a bit too generic and radio-by-the-numbers for my liking. Which is slightly depressing considering this is the same band who gave us Politik, God Put A Smile Upon Your Face etc... Still looking forward to Mylo Xyloto quite a bit and will definitely give it a listen when it comes out, but this song has dashed my hopes slightly.
  7. It sounds better than ETIAW for sure, but it still feels a bit too safe and generic for my liking.
  8. There are 10 songs I'm inclined to believe will be on the album. 1. Mylo Xyloto 2. Hurts Like Heaven 3. Major Minus 4. Paradise 5. Charlie Brown 6. Princess Of China 7. DLIBYH 8. Up In Flames 9. Us Against The World 10. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall I like to think there'll be at least one surprise on the tracklisting though.
  9. My guess is it's a characters name. We'll wait and see I guess.
  10. Serious response alert [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgLm2gInV4A]The Antlers - Kettering (music video) - YouTube[/ame]
  11. Gave it a listen. Didn't enjoy it. Ah well.
  12. I like the album. Which is why I hate to say it, but I can easily see these guys being classified a one-hit-wonder in a few years time.
  13. I'm wondering if it's worth a shot or not. I didn't get much into Inshalla and the two singles off this album are just awful. Doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.
  14. I think I mentioned it in the other thread already but I hate how the cover says MYL OXLY OTO as opposed to the actual title. Wouldn't have been that hard to squeeze in surely?
  15. Not sure if something's mentioned this. CBF reading through 18 pages. The thing I hate is that whilst it's officially titled Mylo Xyloto, it's spelled Myl Oxyl Oto on the artwork. That pisses me off. It's a much better title than Viva la Vida or Death and all his Friends, I'll give it that much.
  16. I'm expecting something happy, poppy and summery. So like Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall basically. Also I'm expecting it to be crap. I really hope it's not.
  17. Why do people still believe ETIAW won't be on the album? I don't like the song much at all but to me it seems fairly obvious the track will make the cut. Why else would they put so much effort into the promoting it?
  18. May I remind you VIVA LA VIDA OR DEATH AND ALL HIS FRIENDS
  19. I agree with everything said here. Seriously guys? I know it's not the greatest song in the world and we'd prefer it not to be on the album but lets face it, it will be. It's the one thing we can be certain of in relation to LP5.
  20. Portishead are a great band and Geoff is a very talented musician in his own right. He just needs to keep his mouth shut is all. This isn't the first time he's said something that's made me facepalm.
  21. I think I picked up on most of the story first time around. Maybe it's because I'm feeling really ill right now, Hospice wasn't the album I needed to listen to.
  22. I've listened to Hospice once. It was brilliant and beautiful and all that but I could never listen to it again. It's possibly the most depressing album I've ever listened to. I much prefer Burst Apart for this reason. Though the album is rather hit-and-miss I can actually listen to it, and have it not make too major an impact on my mood. When the songs miss it's kinda boring but when the songs hit - my god. It's amazing. Strong contender for my AOTY.
