Hi from sunny Yorkshire!
I went to the University of Leeds, quite a while ago now, though still a high-ranking uni I believe. I studied history, though it was more of a mix of international history and politics and sociology. I don't know much about Sheffield uni - only went there for nights out :P Plenty of older gents wear flat caps down south too, 'joking' about regional stereotypes aside.

We will be a little short of puns for the next week
Everything I write about Mark is a complaint, not an allegation, and many others on this thread have contributed their own complaints. I have evidence to back up everything I say - I don't say these things lightly. As for allegations or the like, there have been one or two slurs against Mark on this thread, and I absolutely agree that they have no place on this forum. His silence on the matter can be taken one of two ways; either he is hoping for a more peaceful way ahead with past behaviour stopped, or merely a tacit acknowledgment that much of what is on this thread is true, and unarguable. I dearly hope the former outweighs the latter, and will write no more on the subject until time tells :)

The Philippines need your help
Bump with Christmas goodwill in mind. Most of us are comfortable in our homes, but many of these people are still in great danger of disease, and have no homes anymore anyway...

Hi from sunny Yorkshire!
We've had complete lockdown here for days now on the roads and rail. We're only 30 minutes by train from London, but people haven't been able to get home for the night, and have been staying in town at hotels - it's been crazy! Hope it's at least a little better up there :) So what's Barnsley like? Never got the chance to visit. I only spent time in Sheffield, Bradford (for the curries :P) and the towns around Leeds. Ah, I do miss that place, haven't been back since I graduated, but very much hope to visit next year :)

Hi from sunny Yorkshire!
How's the weather in Barnsley, wang? Ice everywhere down here in Kent (and what's left of the snow)..

The official Chavi and Carla and friends off topic thread
Thank you dear Pris! Ah, I've done everybody except my only close blood-relatives - my sister and Dad. The other important people (sister's partner, and my darling niece and nephew) have all got great presents, so it's going to look awful if I don't get my Dad and sister something good :o Hehe, yeah you know my driving even when the roads aren't covered with ice - very nervous! So, if I don't post here tomorrow night, you'll know I'm in a ditch in a remote country lane somewhere, most probably trying to keep warm by listening to Warning Sign acoustic and dancing around :laugh3: I know mate. They don't call me 'well-planned Pete' for nothing (in fact they don't call me that at all :laugh3:)

I was drinking Frutopia at McDonalds when Glass of Water came on (I DON'T CARE WHERE YOU'VE HEARD CO
Just about the only time I didn't have a (plastic) glass of water front row at the Manchester gig was when that song came on. I spent the whole time trying to get one off the security people and missed the song :P

Hi guys, hope you're all well :) Last day to do Christmas shopping tomorrow, hope all this ice on the roads clears as I haven't done ANY yet :shocked2:

I do agree though, that hopefully he's had a chance to reflect and perhaps change, and so I will no longer bump the more important parts of this thread unless and until others keep it going...

You offer that first comment as a statement of fact. This is a public forum and I (at least, though I know for a fact Mark doesn't) conduct all my communication out in the open. I would ask how you know he's chosen to 'deal with it privately', but it would no longer be private then, would it?.... Your second paragraph totally contradicts what you wrote previously. How are newcomers supposed to know what's he like (re: gaining facebook details, hanging around younger members in a strange way) if this thread is just dropped?

Hi from sunny Yorkshire!
You're right, and when I welcome people to my home I explain where the bathroom and vicious pet are :laugh3: Having said that, quite right, this is Dan's thread, so I'll say no more about it :) Again, welcome Dan, great to have you on board :sunny:

Fair enough boss! There's a completely legitimate reason for continuing to bump it, of course. That is, the thread has become a spamfest, when from pages 35 or so onwards it actually became a most interesting discussion about the behaviour of Mark on these forums for the last x number of years. He has had every chance to argue, or provide evidence, against all these complaints about him since he's no longer banned. The fact that he's chosen not to do so speaks volumes. The OP of the post I had been bumping raised extremely legitimate concerns about the way he conducts himself on this forum, which were largely agreed with, although as I wrote I didn't agree with every single conclusion she drew. It seems she now wants to distance herself from this post for some reason, so so be it. I will, however, continue to point to around pages 34-35 onwards as an interesting place to read more about Mark's behaviour as long as this thread keeps getting 'bumped' by other talk, which wasn't the point or the main thrust of the thread at all.

Music you discovered/listened to for the first time/began to like a lot more in 2009?
Paolo Nutini was the only new music I really picked up on this year - very talented and soulful (spiritual?) chap, and charming tunes.

Just for the record: Well, you've probably seen it rudy already, but I'm sure a LOT of other members haven't...and this is what this thread is all about...

Do you think my Grandmother...
She will absolutely love it - that's a quite wonderful drawing!! :)

Hi from sunny Yorkshire!
He seems pretty calm to me, and it's a fair point.

"Violet Hill" Fan Music Video
Great effort, but doesn't really work imho - a number of things either jar with the song, or don't work visually. Happy to offer more feedback if you'd like, but I'll leave it there for now. Anyway, very well done for trying!! :)

AMAZING IDEA :o <edit> just watched the vid of 42. Jonny's guitar seemed a little out of tune, but no matter, this to me is the perfect example of why this is the best band in the world right at this moment - absolutely stunning - the timing, the tightness, the energy!!

I thought about learning video-editing for the same reason for the Brixton gig (plus we had the radio broadcast for sound for that. You are right, miss Lore, it would be AWESOME!! :))

When you have a user on Ignore do you still click to view their posts?
Quite right - a stone should never be unturned! (On a day out at a pebbly beach it's ok just to do a few though :))

The official Chavi and Carla and friends off topic thread
I want to see the weekend Joe - I feel like I've only met the early week, jet-lagged, and later-week versions!! Joekyl and Hyde?! :P

Hi from sunny Yorkshire!
Yeah, sorry wang, as others have said just thought I'd give you the heads-up (but as others have said also, you'll work it out soon enough :P) Anyway, welcome, this is an incredible community here :) Muck-raking? You were banned for a week for your terrible behaviour just recently...

Well, there's not much multi-quoting can do to hide the truth. And, at last it's out there and people are realising it. Yeah, for sure, the guy just can't help carrying this stuff on...so eventually imho it'll all blow up again (and forum history shows the same thing). I don't think there is a logical explanation, but I second your wish. If there is one, then let's see it. If not, then please be less ambiguous with your intentions when dealing with minors, Mark.
