  1. Heya miss Lore :nice: Yeah, I hope I can come too :) But, I need to save the funds for an around the world trip because I gotta visit Oz and Asia as well...I've promised. But, I can do it. I WILL DO IT :P
  2. Just a heavy cold my friend, but short-lived, already over it :) Not gonna buy tix for SA until I can get my travel funds sorted. I reckon tickets for the gigs won't be a problem nearer the time :) OK, will send a PM as long as you cut out those ridiculous winkies, we already have one too many posters on here who use them :laugh3: :) Hey! :P
  3. How much notice do you need Dave? Three weeks is one option that's already been talked about...(but then I think we gave that much last time...)
  4. Hey Noelia! :) No, sadly it didn't, most of us got sick all at the same time :( But, we'll re-arrange it soon
  5. Harro everyone :nice: Hope all is well :)
  6. Well, I've edited some of my earlier posts to explain that this is just imho and I have also posted a request to the mods for a thread title change to make it less of a fact and more like my own opinion (which it is - feedback taken on board). But really, I don't have time for people just posting expletives in reply to a thoughtful post...makes me want to post on this board less - there are other online places where I can have a far more reasonable (i.e. 'adult') discussion. Thanks :)
  7. The Oracle has the means to ask, but Coldplay would never I don't think put out an answer that said it was inspired by Harry Potter (see some of the reactions to my theory on this thread for the why). Oh well, I haven't read OoTP for years. My main point really was the similarity in certain lines of the last three chapters of Deathly Hallows and the lyrics of the song. Now you've made me think about it more it's only made my belief stronger (until perhaps I get time to read OoTP again - but time is pretty short for me right now, and like I said EVERYTHING changed by the end of book seven with the walk through the forest, and Harry actually getting to be a ghost but not making it to heaven). Just all imho, I'll try to change the thread title to make it sound less 'factual' and more of a hypothesis, but I'm not quite sure how to do that. At least, I hope I gave open-minded people something to think about, even if they disagree with my interpretation, though I will get back sometime to post the quotes, just not sure when - things are busy. :)
  8. An interesting, challenging and thought-provoking post, finally, many thanks!! I can't get the quotes from the book tonight but it's far more than just the word 'spell' for me. There are plenty of parts of the whole series of books where Harry's family are 'just living in his head' (mainly in memories, and more particularly reflected in the Mirror of Erised). There are his journeys through the Pensieve where, although they are gone, he is seeing them as they were; completely alive - but only in his head. And seeing those memories influence his every subsequent action, it's a major theme of the series. I don't know at which point in Godric's Hollow you mean, but if it's the much earlier point in book seven I'm thinking of then things clearly have changed totally for him by the end of the novel. All this aside, none of it struck me as the probable influence (to my mind) until the last few (three?) chapters. There are sentences that almost directly mirror the lyrics, if not in direct quotes then in heavy coincidence. As I say I can't pull out the quotes tonight, but the main points from the final bits for me are: 1) Harry's journey through the forest to confront Voldemort with his deceased loved-ones in support (that disappear from sight before anyone else sees them - they are not dead, but they are in his head). 2) He thought he might be a ghost - he didn't get to heaven but he made it close.
  9. Alright, I read the thread title again, I read my first post. I did present it as fact, fair enough. I was excited and sure of myself (and actually still am). So argue against my idea with reference to the book, and how I might not be, or might be, right - don't just throw expletives at me please. Cheers :)
  10. Well, it seems pretty obvious to me, having had just read the book. Perhaps I presented it too strongly as 'fact' - I accept that. It's a strong opinion of mine that there's a possible, even probable, link; consider that now clarified. I thought people here might be interested in my new theory. Thanks :) I admit I strongly dislike just profane answers to any serious thread or post on here, that's why I wish there was a bit more moderation. OK, disagree with me, argue the point, but why just say rude stuff when someone is trying to make a new point or observation. The Oracle doesn't know I don't think. And I wasn't 'preaching'. I've already explained I didn't mean to present it as fact. I just felt so sure myself that perhaps I posted too assuredly. Have you read that book? Seemed pretty obvious to me, however speculative, until/unless we get an official answer!!
  11. Yah, I had the same problem with Walt Disney. And I tried to thaw out the relationship, but it never got past 'extremely icy' :laugh3: Whenever you can post dude that's cool, actually think you should have kept that secret, but hey ho that's just my little opinion. Can't wait to hear it whenever it comes :)
  12. At least if he's stroking Will's stick again we won't be able to see it :shocked2:
  13. Walt Disney will be woken from his cryonic slumber before we get to hear this :laugh3:

  15. I'd be really interested in this if it wasn't so far away from me... I've talked to a few people about booking a Coldplay tribute band for a Coldplayers gig in London sometime, but we'd need to guarantee a lot of people coming to make it work. And, it's gonna be a lot of organisation (not my strong point :P).
  16. Thank you so much Nancy for your efforts. Perhaps this thread could also be made a sticky for a while? Absolutely, many lives are at stake right at this very moment.
  17. Ioshi is OK, just very VERY busy and not really able to update us. Any word from your end Joe?
  18. Thank you Nancy for your great efforts. Let us hope and pray for some better news VERY soon...

    Why didn't you post your review Ian? :P [ame= ] [/ame]
  20. I don't really know who he was, but this is very sad :( Not that it matters, but isn't there already a thread on this?
  21. Yep, I think it's definitely only a matter of time. I don't mind the guy, in fact I think he's a decent fellow. The problem with the Tories are the ones behind the scenes; the real power-players: big corporations, banks etc. But then again in that sense it hasn't been very much better in recent times under Labour so...
  22. Bloody hell I hope not! I think it's just a cold from getting so wet queuing in the rain on Friday, then the very sweaty, raucous gig. Thanks Julie, but unfortunately the meet-up has been postponed. There were just three of us going, and two of us now have colds :( * Really sorry Phil. Let's re-arrange something. I know your schedule's tight so let us know when's good for you :) * Actually, thinking about it, a fourth person who wanted to come also caught a really nasty cold - I hope it's nothing to do with this thread!

The tour's not over, and they are back in the studio (and by all accounts songs have already been written and well-received, even if they won't see the light of day for a long while/ever). I guess they will probably be working on the album for most of this year, on and off, with my guess as to an Autumn (Fall) release, perhaps even a track or two released over the summer. Anything they want to do at this point is fine by me :) I'm just grateful for VLV (the album more than the song, though it is good, and great fun live) and I never thought we'd get such colour or energy from the band. So, roll on LP5!! Some predictions, though: - The LP5 tour will see the band playing mainly stadiums. They feel they've reached that level and are comfortable with it (to an extent - but that is what they've aimed at since they started, so that is what they'll do, after building up with a first tour leg of probably arena shows). - They will still tour mostly in the USA, ignoring the rest of the world, except Europe and the UK. I guess they play here once a year, and we do get all the radio shows (even though the rest of the World hear/download them anyway!) so I should count myself lucky! - There will be a big break after LP5. Not the band breaking up, but a very long 'holiday' for the guys - I'm thinking 2-3 years before touring again (last ever tour?) with a record possibly just before that.
