  1. CBS? crap. i hope desperate housewives isn't on that night. or i'll just make her watch it online.
  2. the grammys are aired on ABC, right? because if they're not and there's a new episode of desperate housewives on that night, i will MURDER my roommate in cold blood so i can watch the grammys. there's noooo way i'm missing this.
  3. december, no contest. though i guess now that i have finals at the beginning of the month it can get kind of annoying, but the rest of the month (away from college, always a win) totally makes up for it.
  4. aww, i love the heart of icons around paul's head! :nice:
  5. aww no, briggs  of course i don't know the situation or anything like that, but earlier you mentioned just letting the friendship end. i think that's probably what i'd do, but i'd expect the other person to come to me if they ever want to fix it. i'm a big grudge-holder, though. i wonder if you are, and if that would make things better or worse. i guess i'd say just try to lay off for a while, but it depends on the situation :\
  6. the hour interview, a canadian show. i bet it's still in multimedia :D
  7. i can never decide if i like the acoustic version or the osaka sun version better...they're two completely different songs to me, really, that just happen to have the same lyrics. both make me melt.
  8. i was wondering that too. i think she might be, even though i don't think any of her movies are up for anything. people like her are always invited to these things to my knowledge, and i don't think she's one to pass up a red carpet party :D i'll look for her :nice:
  9. anchorman wasn't specific about dates, but other sources said it would be tomorrow, if i recall correctly. i think we all have to comb the internet tomorrow, because i was really excited about it being on the 12th. maybe the 4music thing is just the TV premiere, and its online premiere is tomorrow? then again, since i don't think the sources were official, who knows if it'll go up tomorrow? either way, i don't think it'll be on the official site right then, because with the other video premieres, we've found them other places before we've found them on the official site.

hmm, well i'm more of a fan of quiet, simple sorts of gatherings, so i don't know how much help i'd be. in america, 16 is a bit more of a big deal than 18, so for my 16th birthday i rented a room, invited 50 people, made a 4-hour-long playlist, and ordered about 20 pizzas and it was a really great time. since alcohol is legal for you there though (i think) and you say you want to include it, that can definitely be thrown in :D. it's just not really my style. i'm afraid i'm rather boring when it comes to parties.
  11. oooh, i wouldn't say no to iceland, either :wideeyed:. i want to go there more than anywhere in the world (besides england....)
  12. WALL-E. most definitely. there are a bunch of others, though: mulan, nemo, monsters inc, yellow submarine...i could go on and on. but WALL-E was the best i've ever seen, i think.
  13. london. i always want to be in london. i didn't even have to think about that one  and yes, ari, nick and i live in the same state :D. it's a small state, too, so we don't even live that far from each other.
  14. i really don't want to have to nag her again at any point, because she's done so much for us already and i hate to bug people :P. i really hope she sends us something soon so i don't have to be like "sorry to invade your email inbox AGAIN, but..." and also because i'm dying to know how it went. duh
  15. haha, that's definitely my weirdest name, but i just really like the pronunciation for some reason, and you can create a bunch of nice nicknames from it. it's actually from greek mythology :wacky: and yeah, i DEFINITELY have weird taste in names! but i just get so sick of hearing the same names over and over. i think they lose so much that way, at least for me, because i tend to associate certain things with the name (usually the first person i met with that name or something) and it's not about that individual anymore. i'm really in a rambly, long-posting mood tonight. i think i need to go to bed.
  16. it astonishes me that on this site (and the world in general, really) people can't accept differing opinions. everything has to come down to some huge argument that either resorts to insults or killing people when really, all that's different is a matter of taste or personal opinion. can't people just accept that everyone thinks differently? over and out.
  17. i like it when guys already have names picked out, even though it might be considered girly. i'm actually kind of embarrassed by the fact that i already have names picked out, and i'm a girl :P i like original names that are either ethnic or you never really hear often. my three boys names are orri, varyk, and korb. my first two girls names are a bit more average: anastasia and valentine. but my other girl's names are andromache and heima :P.
  18. twiglets aren't exactly my cup of tea. my mom sent me some for my birthday this year as a joke, but i had to try them, and it wasn't exactly a good experience . i think i could probably grow to like them if i had to, though. i'm going to explore all british snackfoods extensively next year. it'll be part of my research :smart: ANYWAY. ooh babies...
  19. hmm, well the lack of paprika-pringles makes me sad. that's like reason #1 i'm moving OUT of the US. and i think you might be the first person to say that the UK is general food heaven . no offense to british-types on here, that's just a stereotype and everything. no dr. pepper i can live without, but what about mountain dew? that's another essential.
  20. hahaha, good point. that's the main reason i'm moving to the UK anyway, of course :P do they have paprika-flavored pringles in australia? because that would be a deal-breaker.
  21. well, i've always decided i either wanted one (two if it's unavoidable), or like 7 :P. what's three more kids? :laugh3: and christ, $5000? i think that's a bit less in australian dollars than it is in USD, but there's an incentive to move there...anyone know if there's a deal like that in the UK? :sneaky:
  22. haha, well to each their own. to me, babies are adorable, and i think it would be amazing to raise a kid from the very beginning. i've had a lot of experience teaching kids and being a live-in nanny, and i can't wait to be the authority when it comes to kids. it's annoying to have to check with the parents about everything and to have to work around their presence so you don't step on their toes or get in trouble with them, and it's also annoying to have kids not listen to you because "you're not mommy." i don't think i'm going to be the perfect parent or anything and that i'll be able to stamp out all annoying behavior, but i do have my own ideas about bringing up kids, and i can't wait to have the chance to do it my way. what's with me and long posting tonight?
  23. what's with all the old bumped threads? ah well, they're interesting topics :D i'm a very good loser. i'm the least competitive person in the world, i think. to me, it's very silly to get all worked up about someone else being right or someone else beating you in a board game or sport. i think the only person you should be competitive with is yourself. i feel i'm pretty willing to tell people that they were right in almost every situation. in fact, even when i'm 100% sure that i'm right in something that's unimportant or trivial, i'll often tell people that they're right and i'm wrong if it avoids conflict. and in high school, i was forced to play on my school's volleyball team for three years and i HATED it, mostly because it was so competitive and took up so much of my time. games were often late on school nights, and i would often start rooting for the other team if they were winning or purposely miss balls (but making it look like i tried my damndest) because it meant we would get to go home sooner. i think if most people knew that, they would have murdered me.
  24. i've always been happy with who i am. of course there are a few things i would change a bit if i could, but i think it's stupid to get hung up on that stuff, since it never really gets in my way in the first place. i also think people are pretty screwed if they don't like who they are, so i refuse to let myself fall into that trap. however, i'm not happy with the stage in life i'm currently at. i'm in one of those "stuck" periods where i don't feel like anything is benefiting me and it's mostly just a waste of time because i'm not enjoying myself either. but i know that this stage will be over soon (and hopefully things will temporarily change next year), so i can deal with that. basically i just want to get on with things, but the trappings of society won't let me get on with it.
