that's definitely nice too! the problem with that is the butterfly would need to go in an envelope, and we're NOT using envelopes in this project for several reasons.

i have a PO box at college, so i dont think it would be too big of a deal. i might change my mind, though, since the PO box is at the college rather than in some random town and is fairly specific :worried: the thing is, though, i leave college on december 12 for the holidays, so it might not work out for me at all. maybe i should take back my offer, not because i don't want to, but because of logistics :sad:

i love the poster idea, but i think it would be really hard to coordinate :sad: i also LOVE the paper flowers idea, though! however, if there was some way we could all get them together so they were all sent at once as a big surprise, i think that would be awesome :D. i'd be willing to collect them and send them off, if that works.

i checked my amazon account today to make sure that my preorder was still on the books (i preordered it back on october 3, the second you could :P), and it's still there, but the estimated delivery isn't until december 2 :dozey:. i guess that's what i get for being cheap on shipping, but i guess i know it'll leak here anyway. worse comes to worse, i get it on itunes. basically, i NEED to have it on the 25th because i have a 5 hour car drive by myself and i'll need prospekt's march to entertain me.

i tend to look really weird in big patterns like that. i think it's because i'm short, so with bold, big patterns i look stocky. i do better with solid colors or understated, small prints :P i bought this sweaterdress today: i plan to wear it with black leggings and black boots :D

i didn't really think about being proud to be american or not until i went overseas back in 2003 and saw how hated we were on principle, how stereotyped we all were based on our president's persona and horrific actions. it's harder to be proud of your nationality when you see what little stock it has with the rest of the world. and when i went overseas again this past summer as an older person (and a person actually living in another country rather than just a tourist), i noticed the glaring and wonderful absence of many of the problems people face in america every day. lots of the hardships over here simply don't exist in some other countries because they actually have competent governments, and their education systems are better to begin with. it broke my heart to see what my own country could be if it tried harder and changed its ways. personally, i just have a hard time being 100% proud of my nationality when in my opinion, my country has made some severe and regrettable mistakes that i believe could have been avoided with competent people in the right positions. haha, well he's still in office now, until january 20 :P. but i had that image up as my sig back in april, when violet hill was released, and even though someone is going to come in and fix it, or at least i hope he'll fix it, i think the line still applies. we wouldn't need a fixer for the future without a carnival of idiots in the first place :P

the letters would just be parts of words from the director's/editor's notes on the filmstock itself, if i'm right, but who really knows? :D

haha, he's slowly outlining his team. some people have been officially announced, but i think it'll be a few weeks before we know all the people. it's rumored there is a place for john kerry, though :D haha, and personally, i'm 100% convinced it doesn't mean anything, it's just for effect, but i could always be wrong. i think it was just added in for shits and giggles, to make it seem like more of a "film". i doubt those are even matt whitecross's notes. with the VLV secret message in the film last december, at least that was obviously a secret message. this is an effect used in thousands of videos, so it would be harder to pick up a secret message, IMO, because its a commonly-seen thing that people would overlook and not ever think about it being important.

keep the ideas coming, guys! they're great so far. i love the flowers idea, i just wish we could somehow get it to work better. i'm trying to decide exactly what my postcards should be. i know one of them will be this: it's an old sig of mine, and i think chris would like it :P for my second one, i made a "pretty" one on a postcard with a background of butterflies. with glittery letter-stickers, it says "so come over, just be patient and don't worry" and there are foil butterflies glued on too. but i was thinking i might like to send the obama thing in my current sig (though not the part with the blue writing and red stars, just the white part). but i feel a bit loserish having both my postcards being so political and so similar :lol:. do you guys think that's lame?

i think most of my winnings, if you can call them that, are related to coldplay :lol: i won VIP tickets to the today show from ian, and i "won" (not the right word) first-row ticket upgrades from roadie 42 :P oh, and when i was about 11, i won a copy of the first harry potter book, even though i already had it. i think that's about all i can remember winning for now :thinking:

in film editing (before digital film came about), this kind of thing would show up all the time in rough-cuts. it's the director's or editor's notes on the side of the film, and it flashes like this when they scroll through the film really fast in rough cuts. matt whitecross put it in for an effect, i can almost guarantee it :P. i highly doubt it means anything, nor are they notes on the actual LIJ video. i bet it's stock footage of rolling film they decided to throw in to make it more fancy :lol:

guys, the flowers thing is totally possible (assuming they'd deliver to a PO box, though). i could find a florist in london that takes online orders and get them to deliver them. its not a problem of delivering them, its a problem of debs realizing there's a package waiting for her at the post office before they die. i love that idea, though! what about something similar that's not so perishable? i was thinking along the lines of butterflies, maybe...? a bouquet of butterflies?
