  1. :sunny:Welcome Infogatherer!:) Glad to hear you thoroughly enjoy Coldplay's music - I have to agree with you there - they are an excellent group! & do you have a name to go with that catchy title?
  2. Take a look at how other great musicians got their start. Before U2, there were these theatrical characters, who did almost anything or everything in the art scene, and gained inspiration from things such as a naked man laying on clay, "crawling across the universe", or building a miniature medieval rustic scene from building rubble. Because it was so empowering in the sense of creativity and freedom of expression, this provided the crucible for their formative years. Church gospel quire groups, moments in history that create lasting impressions, powerful revelations of deeper truths... Become more artistic while searching - it's forging ahead with the wave of what's going on, or making that scene happen, molding or shaping the clay as a part of the process, and being unafraid to experiment, and perfect your art. Strive for something; go with the synergy, and see what happens.;)
  3. listen, if you dare... David Bowie - [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhSYbRiYwTY]YouTube - David Bowie's "Space Oddity"[/ame] Space Oddity:cool:
  4. Fair-trade blend! Coffee just isn't me - Tea is. What's your favorite on this day-after-St-Pats-or-Joseph's-day?
  5.:laugh3: If I have to build a boat and bring it there, I might as well build you a sea-plane! Sure paint it anything your heart desires!;)
  6. Have you ever tired the fife, Sarah? I've always wondered what the Irish fife is like to play - I suppose similar??
  7. Pronto Carlita!:P Hmm.. an escape ship - well, I've never built one before, but I'm imagining some type of craft, with the ability to submerge, perhaps with a nice periscope. I could help build it, but by that time another election, and a new leader! :laugh3: How about the normal route, and try the embassy?;)
  8. 00 .=. Silicon, my favorite element! But silicon does have some challengers - organic polymers may one day topple silicon's preeminence as the material of choice for solar photovoltaics; but R&D takes time, so when that will be, only time knows the answer.
  9. Because Rick, I believe in being plain. I suppose I could, but it would have to be minimalistic.. hmm...
  10. What class is this, Carla?? (please, tell me it's not math!:stunned:). Keep the mind sharp - you'll need the learning for the escape ship!:P

  12. Greeting from the other side of planet Earth. Enjoy the leisure pleasures of the floopy mattresses grown here, and glad you like the music - plenty of good tunes to spare.;)
  13. yes. For a cool million dollars, would you donate 12 years of your life caring for the mentally insane?
  14. :laugh3: Green shoes are hard to spot - do they have green sequins on them?? Maybe you're too cute, and they can't resist?;) &...Happy St. Patrick's Day!...:hat:
  15. That does look scrumptious!:) Lucky U!! In honor of St. Patrick, I'm having some Irish tea - strong tea from Ceylon, with heavy milk.
  16. I think this thread is "how do you get 10,000 posts. Why, by kissing the Blarney Stone, that's how!! Then, when blessed with the gift of gab, you'll quickly amass more posts than a farm field in Ireland!!
  17. 7:47 comin' out of the sky.. And.. I'm waiting for some Celtic cookies from the oven, And I'm going to make some green Irish Tea!
  18. Truthfully now, Bono says that St. Patrick brought civilization to the wild, mad, warring Irish tribes - he got them interested in Latin literature and saved some of the ancient world's works from destruction through the devotion of the Irish toward saving and learning from these works of earlier civilization. So, in Saint Patrick, there's a part of the early Mediterranean civilizations being brought to Ireland, and their adopting of the ideas and works contained therein. So therefore, Saint Patrick is a global godsend, who made his home in Ireland, and we by extension are fortunate to have the advanced teachings he saved, and the Irish saved, from the destruction of the middle ages, as what propelled modern civilization in the West, and the world in general.. Therefore, we can all celebrate St. Patrick's Day as the day when civilization was saved from the dark ages (and rejoyce in the enlightenment, by drinking some fine Irish brew).:)
  19. Bar-B-Que Squirrel on whole wheat bread!:D
  20.:lol: Well, perhaps a bit of history: since Celtic Europe was huge at one time, in one sense, you might be closer to the Irish than you think! So, by roundabout logic, that makes it OK for non-Irish to pinch other non-Irish, since technically, they/we may be extensions of the progeny of ancestral Celts. Besides, it's a good excuse to have fun, and what harm can come from that??:laugh3:
  21. :sunny:Hooray for Saint Patrick's Day!!:sunny:
  22. I thought this was interesting - U2's formative years, and the music scene in Ireland:[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUjS5s4eU0k]YouTube - The Irish Rock of the 70's & 80's - A clip from "Out of Ireland"[/ame]
  23. We are in space and time having our own conscious as well as an interacting conscious, and to function, we just keep going without the full thought of whether we're in one state or another. From an information standpoint, think of all the neural networks, the sounds and lights and pressures and temperatures that affect communications, and the other fellow travelers, both human an nonhuman, which we communicate with or affect as we travel the continuum. Some ideas are arrived at on a purely individual basis, others through interactions, and even the echo of thoughts from the long-ago past can change the patterns of thought at the present. The individual as an island, and the individual as a collective can be at times all one, or all the other, or both - depending on the circumstances. And culture has a large part to do with how much of each we are, and at what times.:)
