I'll rather wait for any official news. Magazines have been wrong before and Coldplay must have changed the tracklist at least once since Q came to interview Will. I'm also curious as to why everyone sees Charlie Brown as an 'instant classic' -- it's a good song but imo not a going to produce a singalong in a way even ETIAW is!

I'd rather have Moving to Mars instead of Major Minus but what can you do....I'll be a bit sad if it turns out we have heard practically half the album already and in good quality too!

I can summarize: basically, whatever you guys have read in this thread, it has very little to nothing to do with the LP5. Whatever theories we've had about this artist Mylo having to do anything with Coldplay seem inadvertent - lovely Debs, who has graciously posted again, has stressed that album isn't finished and the title hasn't been decided yet, but an announcement will be out soon when they do decide on what it's going to be. I think the album might need to be finished in the next couple of weeks (maximum 3-4) which is when they can announce the title. So I don't think we will have anything before mid-August. Will met a few fans a few months ago and said the album would be out in October, so that release date seems very realistic at this moment. I guess we all just have to wait. However, Debs did not dispel any rumours about Mylo Xyloto as a song Coldplay would release, so I guess the info on that site should be legit.

There might be a pause between the album release and the following (proper) tour. I just hope they'll head to Europe just as much as they did last time in 2008.

@Coldplayer1317 - if you're right this is EXCELLENT NEWS! I have my doubts though - I'm quite sure at least Charlie Brown will be on it - Anchorman has said multiple times it will be a favourite for fans one day, along with Chris who said that about multiple songs at Glastonbury. So, my opinion is Charlie Brown will be on there, along with Princess of China. Two out of 10/11 ain't so bad, if we haven't had a decent mp3/m4a to buy before the album release.

I think....with the sort of reinvention period they're supposed to be going through, you can't rule anything out. I do believe the album isn't coming out until late August though (Guy confirmed in an interview that some songs are getting mixed and mastered NOW so that means at least a month or two until they're supposedly ready for release). I actually think Will's assessment, when some fans met him, was spot on - why would he say early autumn was the release time if it wasn't? My opinion is that the songs which were premiered at the festivals were completed first, along with some extra songs (like Moving to Mars). Remember a year ago how Roadie says there were literally tens of songs in the mix? I'm sure they've been extra -productive this time, because they've had more than enough time to produce. So, my conclusion is we're going to have at least another single out in a month or two; complete with at least one b-side, and then start building up the attention: slowly, but surely. PS - don't think ETIAW will be on the album, think it was what they call a 'standalone' single specifically for the festivals plus it's on EP. But the NEXT single should be on LP5! ;)

You know what REALLY bothers me so far in this new era? Chris' vocals are NOT very clear! And I'm willing to bet Moving to Mars will be the same thing.....it was ok when they did the experimentation in Rainy Day, but otherwise it just seems the vocals are really low in both mixes, ETIAW and MM. Just my opinion.

I would be delighted if the album consisted of all new tracks, so no ETIAW, MM, etc. But I'm sure the speculation will go on after the Itunes' digital bundle release: if HLH, UATW, POC or CB are on it, then we'll just see which one/two/three has been left out, and assume it's on LP5. I am 100% convinced that at least one track we've already heard will be on LP5 though, but I don't think there will be more than two. Wouldn't make sense to premiere half the album and then expect everybody to buy it.

I am delighted to hear that we're getting a bunch of new songs next week, but I do not think these will be NEW per se, but new songs from the festivals. It says there will be more trackS next week, so we can expect at least two (or at best three) in addition to MM, in my opinion. I am also relieved MM is not the title of the album, I thought it sounded awfully negative and really wouldn't feel like Coldplay. And to be honest, I'm looking forward to the album more than ever now....we could potentially have 10-11 tracks we haven't heard before, so it could be like Viva La Vida where only Violet Hill was released two months before the album was. So, I fully expect this Itunes bundle EP to have songs on it we already know about, and we'll see which songs aren't on it, they could still be on the album. Obviously Charlie Brown is a great new song and so is UATW, so perhaps they've survived the selection and will eventually be on the LP. I don't know, but I'm hoping it's going to be like in Viva era - where we were really left to ourselves up to the last minute.

I think we have to understand it in the context of the album. These songs are not confirmed to be on the album as of yet so I wouldn't be too worried. Will said the album has a story of somekind so perhaps when in right order, it will be a lot more obvious to everybody. Don't forget they have a lot of songs and have probably recorded a lot more than they could use on the album. If they had released LIJ, VLV, DAAHS, and LIT as separate songs before VLV was out, we'd feel the same tension IMO.

I think early August release is possible. After all, they're only in the studio to finish ONE new song (all others seem to be finished) - perhaps that's what Oracle was referring to when he/she said it was almost finished. It's possible the songs are already getting mastered and the final tracklisting is basically done, with some space left to include the new song. Anyway, this is the first site that's actually said something definite about the release of the album even if it's speculation + the band already have the new look onstage so it can't be much longer now...

Well I think the festival songs are all 'standalones' - don't really think more than one or two will be on the album itself. Perhaps it's still coming out around October (which is plausible, now that the Oracle has confirmed it has NOT BEEN FINISHED yet). As they obviously haven't decided on tracklisting yet, finishing it or the new song Chris wrote days ago, could easily take another month with all the touring they have to do. Then, add another two months for mastering and marketing it. So September seems likely. In my opinion, they've gone the right way, giving us a few new songs while on the other hand keeping entirely mum about LP5, keeping us all guessing. My guess is that only two out of five new songs will actually be on the album and not more. Perhaps not even two, perhaps it'll be an entirely new thing :)

This means the tracklist isn't definite yet. Which ultimately means they will promote the new material and some of it may end on the album, while some may not. Which is good because no one wants to have the whole album before the actual release.
