Lyrics are wonky, as always, but the topic is good. The rhythm strongly reminds of 15 Steps by Radiohead. I appreciate the length of the track, and the use of interesting instruments and sound bits. I really love the guitar riffs. I think Chris could have worded the whole thing a little bit nicer, but ultimately I somewhat accept Chris' lack of lyrical talent. The chorus at the end reminds me so much of Apparatjik. In combination with the strings this song ends way stronger than it started.

Jesus Christ this concert... the concert itself was amazing! I had a staring contest with Chris at one point, and half into the intro of GPASUYF there was too much smoke on the stage that Chris stopped the whole thing and apologized because the intense smoke mashine action was his idea. And when the concert was over my friends and myself wanted to head back into our hotel, but some construction workers had found an old WW2 aircraft bomb in the ground next to our hotel so we couldn't go there until 3:30 at least. In the end, after a long chaotic walk through half the city because of the piss poor evacuation planning, we ended up at the Frankfurter convention halls where all the fire/police-department where providing camp beds and free food for our lost souls lmao. THE STRUGGLE.

My opinion perfectly summarized by these two posts. I couldn't understand a thing the first time I listened to the song, but that didn't really bother me because, well, in the end we're all here for the music, not the lyrics. After I read the lyrics, the word "shoe" is the only thing that stuck in my head :| What I actually like about the song is the way Chris' voice is so low and disorted it actually sounds like an instrument as well, rather than a human voice trying to tell us something. Kinda reminds me of A Spell A Rebel Yell. When he raises his voice towards the last third of the song, I got all tingly because I felt some heavy X&Y vibes. A popular youtube comment describes it rather well: I've been waiting this for years. This sound. This Coldplay (...) The real, old school like, mixed with X&Y having a baby with GS and AROBTTH sound. Funnily enough, like with all new Coldplay songs, I only really enjoy the last half/third of the song, the rest is.. kinda forgettable, unfortunately. But I'm already getting the impression that the more I listen to the song, the more I like it. The music video is absolutely delightful though! Reminds me a lot of old cartoons, also some nice 80's styles going on, especially the way the fonts are used. I also love the random jellyfish and deep sea creatures floating around, and how one of the most modern things humanity has brought up so far (the space suit) actually ends up fossilized in the ground and builds the foundation for the rest of the music video (where everything starts breaking apart. Thank you all very much, you're very kind. The dog was old and hurting for months, so I think it was the right thing to end the suffering. The grave is filled now and covered with a big stone, and I think this is my closure. It's like putting a heavy lid on a great part of my life that had ended today. Time to move on and let the sadness where it belongs: the past.

I have to put my dog down in about 3 hours. I've had him for 17 years, I am very sad. I'll probably come to closure after digging the grave and laying him down, but well.. it's a depressing day.
