Maybe your fonts are broken? I'm not sure. I know that's caused by missing characters in font files, but not sure why it might have happened or which ones you'd need to replace.

I know of the hotel chain they've usually picked during stays here (just can't remember the name), but as HandyAndy said if it's a stopover flight to LA then yes, they would likely only be at the airport for a couple of hours. Even then you might not see them.
