Thats the whole point of this album I think. Its supposed to be understated and not bombastic in any way. So far they HAVE managed to create the right balance I think (Another's Arms for example has a distinctive Parachutes feel to it yet it incorporates the electro theme going on so far in all the new songs). GS is shaping up to be their most interesting album and will probably divide fans even more so than MX did.

I can't believe they're using a ReacTable! What could that mean in terms of how the other songs on the album sound?! And I love the fact that everything looks dark.

I've had it on repeat for a couple of days now and it gets better every time! What baffles me is why it took me a lot longer to appreciate and understand the song. I loved midnight instantly but this was a very different experience. I hope others who dismissed it early on like me give it a few more listens and I'm sure they'll fall in love.

Same here! I definitely disliked it at first but now its amazing. Also I don't think the song is mainstream/radio friendly at all.

I would like to recant what I said previously and admit the song has grown on me massively! Yes the lyrics aren't the best but the song is solid. I give it an 8 out of ten.

There is no reason to move anything anywhere. A lot of the stuff on this website is irrelevant to a Coldplay fan. It is to me anyway! I don't come here to discuss cookery or see naked pictures of Chris etc. We just need a platform to discuss Coldplay and that's it.

So I finally gave it a 6. The lyrics are terrible even by Coldplay standards and as always I hate the electronic drum. Jonny just manages to save the song! Midnight was so brilliant it raised my expectations, but after this I just hope the album doesn't turn out to be a disappointment like MX. Excellent point. I don't know how its getting a 10!

I love the album name and the artworks look absolutely epic! Probably the best they've done since rush of blood! The whole album reveal was the exact opposite of MX and I'm loving it! Now onto Magic. After Midnight I had different expectations and after a lot of listens I still prefer Midnight. BUT, production wise, Magic is exactly what I was hoping for in that they've kept it minimal. Guy's bass is epic and dominant during the whole song and Chris's voice is just right. However, every time Jonny comes in with his heavenly guitar, and I mean the kind that sends shivers down your spine, he is cut too short! So all in all I hate some parts about it but love the rest. I can't give it a rating yet. By the way 03:04 to 03:10 sounds really familiar and I'm positive the melody is borrowed from another song I just can't remember what song!

I don't consider Depeche Mode, M83 and a lot of other artist who at times only use electronics and create amazing music to be mainstream. Midnight isn't mainstream at all!

:lol: Great work spotting Will! His presence in that photo is the best most exciting thing for me about the Grammys! By the way the sooner Chris starts to distance himself from people like Jay Z and Beyonce the better. They're getting disturbingly vile.

They absolutely deserved both the Golden Globe and the two Grammys. Ordinary Love won the Globe because its about Mandela. Live Kisses won because its Paul McCartney and Adele will probably get a presidential medal for having a shit. I like Skyfall but no way is it better than Atlas.

I sensed this might be the case since they probably wont reveal anything significant about LP6 in a Q issue. I do hope we get some information before summer.

Really sad that it didn't go to Atlas. OL is a terrible song and I believe even if Lady Gaga had written the song for this movie, they would have given it to her, simply because the movie is about Mandela. And thats pretty fucked up when you realize they clearly didn't care which one is actually a better song!

Atlas deserves to win no doubt. Ordinary Love was so ordinary it left me hugely disappointed.

Very exciting stuff! Feels great to see them all four I'm really pleased.

Both :D They're great for entertainment and certainly look spectacular but it gives the show a rave tiesto ecstasy kind of feeling which is a bit weird. For Coldplay. If you get what I mean! They could always take a leaf out of U2 or Muse's book though and make the stage more grand and impressive. No problem with that.
