  1. You know what I would really love? A proper vinyl edition, preferably picture disc of Adventure :D But it´s not gonna happen hehe, so I am crossing my fingers for another single off AHFOD released for record store day or something.
  2. They have been to a lot of interviews in the US though, radio shows and also the events in LA. I am not sure they advertised more in Europe than here? It´s also true that nowadays physical music is not really taking much space on the shelves anymore...I miss the old music shops! Probably one of the reasons why I like vinyl too, cuz u can still walk into a vinyl shop and browse music.
  3. Nah I wish..haha Chris definitely said this song was about women. Until I know what umi means, I´ll always sing "to me she´d say" hehe
  4. I keep loving this track. Its sad in a way but hopeful too. I always put my hands up when I sing "I put my hands up to the sky" hehe :)
  5. I thought umi was hindu for something...apparently not. If only there was an R in front of the name, then I would know who it is *lol*

The record shattering numbers I believe are solely due to the fact people have been hungry for an Adele album for years. Anticipation building up for years would result in people rushing to the shelves as soon as she dropped her single. There was really no advertising around 25 as far as I could see. It´s really selling itself! Oh I am sure she can deviate from her signature sound if she wants to now. 3 albums in and her kind of success means she probably has quite a lot of artistic freedom. I remember reading she tried writing other tracks for 25, happier ones inspired by her motherhood or something, but it just wasnt her, so she went back and re-wrote it to what we have now. I heard a few tracks. I like it, it´s a solid sequel to 21, but I think she will make quite a different album next time around. (Where she is also dropping the age numbers hehe)

My impression is that Everglow is the only track on AHFOD about Gwyneth whereas GS is all about her of course, the rest is about women in general (Adventure) and I think perhaps a couple about Jennifer or some other past/current girlfriend of his? :) I totally thought "Jennifer" when I heard Fun, but of course it may well have been written ages ago and still be about Gwyneth, who knows :)

This is so true and in the beginning I was nearly upset! But now that I´ve listened to the album a few times one track after the other I can see how the production on Up&Up fits with the rest. If they had gone for the live version and crescendo exploding piano in the end, it would have been great but out of sync with the album as a whole imo.

It so is...thankfully there is the hopeful finish and then "lets fight for this" hints throughout.
  10. I did ask yes, he kindly changed it for me :)
  11. Thinking I am tired
  12. Yes I did. The one I had was the super old one I dont use anymore anywhere, but its still me, Leo :)

Also I found this pretty fun! haha especially the part where she goes for the outdated phone *lol* good with self irony about her video :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yL7VP4-kP4

I am the last to enjoy sappy break up tunes and yet when I hear Adele I am completely sold! I asked myself why and for me at least it comes down to two things: her amazing voice and her honesty. She just has an earnestness and honesty in the way she conveys a song that I cant help by being taken by it...possibly because we are constantly surrounded by "fake" stuff, when we see something real it leaves an impression and people are just hungry for it. For the record I love her single and plan to buy a few more songs from her latest album. Also she is absolute fun to watch in interviews hehe
  15. I am deeply envious of what looks like proper vinyl gear hehe I still only have my "Crosley" lookalike portable player. It´s cute and we are good friends hehe However one day I totally want a high end one. p.s. Join the vinyl thread if you have not already :D
  16. Now maybe this means nothing as I am not sure how Barnes and Noble are up to date when it comes to music. After all they specialise in books, but the guy I talked to was not even aware a new Coldplay album was coming out :/ I also have not seen any advertising here locally, however they have been to plenty of shows, so thats good :)
  17. Thats a good point. Lets hope they sell closer to what MX did or similar. But they are also bound to be affected a bit by the "Adele hurricane" with her release just two weeks prior :/
  18. Up & Up, Army of One and Fun are alternating in my head :)
  19. I have fond memories of this because Rihanna showed up unexpectedly and I spent a whole 20 seconds thinking I was watching the video before realising it was her on the stage LOL It was a lovely surprise moment and the crowd went wild. :) Also I loved seeing them re-enacting the video "forehead touching" on stage :)
  20. Oh yes a lot of soccer in my childhood too hehe *nods to the crappiness of italian music* :) I did not get too many carbs, my mum was fond of cooking vegetables and making good home-made food. I first encountered the damaging carbs when I moved to Denmark (and dont get me started on the carbs in the US, they practically live off bread in all its forms haha) My DNA is a strange mix haha I am part american, part italian and more back in the family also scottish, french and danish and probably some other countries too haha :) I was born in Italy but I spent 80% of my time in the american base while going to italian school though (yeah a mess early on LOL), then moved to Denmark when I turned 18 and I still live here :) p.s. no denying the deliciousness of italian pasta though, am i right? :) And how cool with Coldplay-obsessed parents! :D
  21. The ending is just cheeky hehe It´s a sharp contrast, kinda like when Jonny hits you with that fiddle-like lick right when you´re still half hypnotised by the mellow Everglow *lol*

I for one am thankful I practically missed him until someone here pointed out where he is *lol*

I never thought of Princess as someone else´s song and I do like it as a duet. To me it fits quite well in MX where throughout there is this theme of Mylo and his girl hehe However in ahfod we have several guest vocalists and it would have been damn weird with multiple duets o_O, so yeah it makes sense they are not featured prominently, not even Noel hehe They pop up here and there in the right way :D
  24. Hey this is also where I really got into Coldplay :) I´ve never bought a whole album by them prior this, only heard the main songs mostly. Twisted Logic tour was also my first concert.
  25. *lol* But must each song be terribly intellectual and profound? I think he just wanted to have fun and express simple sentiments in a fun way :) I like that its not all heavy and profound at the end of the day :)
