Moving To Mars: LISTENING PARTY! Countdown to Friday 24th June, 11.45am (BST)
How do you know it has an epic intro by Jonny? I must have missed this somewhere?

Moving To Mars: LISTENING PARTY! Countdown to Friday 24th June, 11.45am (BST)
After hearing all the new stuff, I feel like as long as Jonny is prevalent, it'll be ok! Not to diss any of the other guys, cuz they are just awesome, but Jonny just guarantees a good track, bless him!

Moving To Mars: LISTENING PARTY! Countdown to Friday 24th June, 11.45am (BST)
Do you think it's gonna be an up-tempo or slow song? I hope it's gonna be dreamy, spacey and with lots of Jonny!

Major Minus: Studio v Live?
Funny how such a question was really never posed before with songs from VLV for example...I am sure no one wonders which version is better, because we all appreciate them because they are different. I think this question came up simply because we heard the live version first...I always thought it was a weird way for Coldplay to premiere their songs. Maybe they have a masterplan...I certainly hope so. Otherwise it's a bit confusing to hear so many songs live first and then the studio version...it's nearly always bound to disappoint

Was Major Minus out on time yesterday, or was it delayed? I was not listening when it was premiered.

Major Minus: Studio v Live?
I really think this is a case of having the wrong expectations based on the live version we all heard before the studio version. If Major Minus will make it as a song in LP5, I think we will all be able to appreciate it in its context. I was also disappointed by the studio version at first listen, but then I kinda let myself sink in the mood of the song and I realized just how dark this track really is (which is not really conveyed in the live version). If you can let yourself be transported into the dark distorted mood the track is painting, I think you will like it :)

Moving To Mars: LISTENING PARTY! Countdown to Friday 24th June, 11.45am (BST)
I am actually waiting for my mum to prepare lunch and I will probably be listening in while I am eating or shortly afterwards. I think this will also stream on the official webpage afterwards, don't you think?

Moving To Mars: LISTENING PARTY! Countdown to Friday 24th June, 11.45am (BST)
It is aired at 11:45 BST. Any time picked would always be a bad time for some part of the world....As Coldplay are british, it is only logical that the song would be aired when people in Britain are actually awake :)

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall / Major Minus / Moving To Mars - CD, vinyl and digital release
The way I see it I pre-ordered the bundle because I love collecting vinyls (I also had violet hill vinyl) and would be great to have ETIAW in full cd quality so I can import it as lossless into my iTunes. So I do not feel I wasted my money there. As for the exclusive tracks on iTunes, I really hope they will be available as single downloads, otherwise that would certainly be a rip-off. The worst thing I think was not to announce the availability of ETIAW before just about every fan had already downloaded it digitally...that was really low, probably a desperate move from the record company....

Great / epic song :D!?
I like both Every tear and us against the world. I know It's a rarity in this thread, but there it is :) looking forward to all new songs!

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall / Major Minus / Moving To Mars - CD, vinyl and digital release
Unless major minus was only recently demoted to b-side. That would explain why the lyrics are on Chris guitar but it is not release as an A-side

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall / Major Minus / Moving To Mars - CD, vinyl and digital release
For all those who do not want to buy ETIAW again, I'm sure major minus will be available on iTunes as a single download. I could not imagine the release being album only.

LP5: Johnny Buckland to shine
I always found Jonny´s guitar licks the true treasures of Coldplay songs. I often find myself anticipating his turn in many a songs: he just takes them to the next level. Chris is not being over-generous when he said that without Jonny there would be no Coldplay: it´s simply musically true. I can not wait for Jonny unleashed on LP5! Loving all I´ve heard so far!
-
Do they care?
I remember Chris saying once that you can´t please everyone...and that´s just it. A true artist produces music that is relevant to her/him and channels her/his own creativity in a unique personal way, regardless of the reaction of the outside world. This is true artistic expression. There will always be people who like the song and people who hate it. Regardless of how many like the song, Coldplay I am sure will stick to their vision , because that is the only way to be creative and evolve. :)

What should I do?
Thanks for the all the comments girls and guys! And yes you´re right it´s a personal choice, but I can see I am not the only one with this dilemma. I guess I miss the old-fashioned album release plan, with teasers, first single and then album with pristine songs never heard before! I am not a fan of these "live leaks" and I truly wonder why they decided to do it this way...maybe they will let us know once the album is released. For now, I have decided to stop listening to the new songs and try to forget they even exist...until release date :) Wish me luck!
-
What should I do?
On the other hand...these are live versions. The studio versions will always be much different, so would we really spoil ourselves by listening to these live first? Damn I wish Coldplay had not put us into this position! They thought they were doing us a favor, but instead...argh! hehe

What should I do?
Givelovesolong: As I read your comment, I was listening to Hurt Like Heaven! *LOL* These songs are like drugs! However I will take your advice and stop for as long as I can! Thx :)

Great / epic song :D!?
Through chaos as it swirls, it´s us against the world.... Forget any comment I have made before. This song is wonderful: I am just a johnny-come-lately to this realization! That said, I LOVE all the other new songs, including ETIAW and they just get better and better with each listen!
-
What should I do?
Good point. I have listened, but my question is are repeated listens a good idea? Or a potential album spoiler? I am so tempted to play them again and again! :)

LP5 to be released on July 1?!?!
Oh I don´t want to let myself dream away that it might be released on July 1....disappointment would sting! I sadly also stand by a release date in the Fall, however an early release date in the summer would be an amazing surprise.
-
What should I do?
Fellow coldplayers I need to know what you´re all doing about the new songs being played at festivals. With the great quality videos being released, the temptation is high to listen to these songs over and over again, but I am afraid to give in as that would definitely spoil my experience of the album, should all songs be on LP5. I don´t know why Coldplay torture us this way , but what are you doing about it? Listen or not listen? Pros and cons?
-
Every Teardrop might NOT be on LP5! (The Oracle Answers)
I agree with Vitamin. All songs sound amazing, but I also do not believe they would give so many new tracks away months before release date, so what gives? I am not sure but this is certainly contradictory info as all songs are clearly strong and if these new songs are B-sides, well Coldplay´s LP5 will the be record of the bloody century!
