  1. Chocolate.
  2. Thats a lovely beard. I had not seen Chris with a beard before...I think he should grow one on par with his fellow members hehe :disguise:
  3. ^^ Thats really a nice list! Just the "do it private" won't work too well here on a forum haha But everything else is spot on imo
  4. Ok :) I can remove the closing date on my part too, then I can inform people on the first post about the closing date we agree to and at that time you can go ahead and just remove the poll. Let me know if that cud be a solution :)
  5. I agree with your impression. Thats mine as well from the few months I´ve been here.
  6. This will air tomorrow for us in Europe right? Being an american late late show I assume?
  7. I agree with @Batman analysis at the opening post in this thread. I must admit when I go into a fan forum of anything I expect the most enthusiastic bunch about the relevant artist/item/subject Im a fan about, so we can share and go all out in our fan geekiness! hehe But Im also not very experienced when it comes to forums, Ive only been a few...so I take notice of some who say you cant really find a place where everyone is just happy and posting about how something makes them happy hehe So yeah it is human nature I guess to always find something to criticise even in the things we supposedly love the most? I must say personally I don't mind if someone posts something like "Dear God that Hymn for the Weekend is just so awful it hurts my ears!" LOL I mean to me thats perfectly fine (now granted, if the very large majority of people here hated the new album and I wanted to post to share my liking of the new album I probably would not find any meaning in posting at all hehe). What I don't think is fine is rudeness and judging a person for liking or not liking something. I´ll confess something. I wish Oldplayers would say "You know? We´ve gone over the line quite a few times calling you names or telling you your music taste is moronic. We take responsibility , recognise that music tastes vary, say sorry and move on" And Newplayers saying "You know what? We really did not like seeing such heavy criticism of the band for the latter work, it rains on our parade and we just get pissed of hearing people being negative all the time, so we wanted you all to go away! We take responsibility, say sorry, recognise that different opinions can have an equal place here and move on". Or something along these lines....haha *dreams on* *LOL*
  8. I´d love that! But it seems to be an utopian world LOL
  9. Both may have happened I don't know, though I believe it is the choice of words that really make a difference . I think there will always be SOME tensions when there is a part of the fandom that is so clearly divided and yes both sides can be enthusiastic about their statements. However my opinion is that there is no excuse for lack of respect (and that goes especially when judging someone personally for their musical taste, no matter what that may be or of course when using rude words and comments) but I also think, and I speak personally here people are free to disagree, people in general come to a fan forum to celebrate the band and its work, because its a good space to share with like-minded individuals. Too much/aggressive criticism on a fan forum is bound to be seen as odd...then its perhaps a Coldplay forum, not a Coldplay fan forum? What I mean is that if I post "God I love Hymn for the weekend!" on any general forum online I know what to expect...if Im lucky equal criticism and praise, but on a specific Coldplay fan forum I mostly expect people to like the material Im posting about, otherwise it would not be a "fan" forum and they would not actively post? But yeah some tensions will always be there, so either we all learn not to be rude and be respectful or I don't know how else we are all going to share the same space :)
  10. I think in the forum the thread for this is the Ultimate Coldplaying/Coldplayer thread, where all eras are included but no you don't need to like all songs. I was told today that the latter, liking ALL songs, is called Gold-player LOL
  11. No, I meant to say that I noticed that I find more introvert people (or reluctant to engage in social conversations) in online forums than I find in friends I know in "real life". Its not so unlikely to think that for someone who is not comfortable with talking up to strangers in real life might find it easier to do it online. Not saying thats the case with everyone, hardly, but its something that happens. I just noticed this difference in my small experience. And there is a difference between extroverts and introverts or whatever in between :) I know several people who have no reluctance talking to strangers, matter of fact they actively seek to engage in conversations with strangers! *lol* (I spent a lot of years in Italy where this is pretty common hehe, less common here in Denmark). So people are very different, I don't feel Im in a position to say what is human nature or not in this case :) And I speak here in general of approaching strangers for various reasons , not romantic reasons where with the latter I agree with you both introverts and extroverts would probably fear some form of rejection :) p.s. I agree with regret being worse than rejection in all cases yes, but as someone who used to suffer from social phobia in the past sometimes its also best not to put yourself into a situation where you feel TOO uncomfortable, its good to know your limits and work with pushing them a bit but not to the point that they break
  12. Seems to me more like that they want to evangelise atheism, like spread it to others, dunno. Seems funny to me to spread the denial of something *LOL* But yeah it is ironic how they are incorporating elements of the same thing they deny exist.
  13. @Kamili Thought I´d reply to you here so we don't further "clog" the video thread... Don't know much about it, just the link I posted. It looks like a church with sermons and all, just without God. Kinda like I went into a chemistry lab and started doing experiments, without the science though *LOL* They seem to like a place to gather, which is fine. Not sure why they call it church and not assembly though , also not sure why they "evangelise" LOL
  14. Off topic chats
  15. Nice and polite should be the norm , but I totally agree with your conclusion :) Religion is such a personal subject, no wonder people can be touchy. The funny thing is that I find some atheists to be just as touchy haha Apparently atheism has its own church and movement now too...ahh the irony *LOL*
  16. Jedi Leo replied to getithom's topic in Kaleidoscope
It doesn't sound like Kaleidoscope to me...to my ears the chords sound completely different but the tempo and the change of chords as well as mood are similar/reminiscent of it. My money are on a no for this being the origin of Kaleidoscope, but nice find :D
  17. You know what...I think you have a point there LOL I always found myself to be an anomaly on online forums (I only participated in a handful but still). I noticed a lot of people would tell me they are actually shy in real life. I don't want to generalise but I found this to be quite consistent in the forums I visited. So I used to say to my forum friends...dont worry guys: when we meet, I´ll come up to you and start chatting away then ! LOL Im perhaps the rare very extrovert who visits online forums? It would not surprise me. Im odd in more ways than I can count haha
  18. If @gai thinks this modification is necessary, maybe he can modify the end time of the poll to a day earlier or so. I cant edit it from my part so I´ll leave it up to him to decide, also because he´s the one who´s gonna try to advertise it so I figure he´d know best :)
  19. About to eat one of my usual breakfasts: banana, blueberries and brazilian nuts with honey
  20. @I ran away The poll here is set to close on 6 February 3 am (my time) which would be 6 pm on February 2 PST, so about 18 hours before the start of the listening party roughly. I think its ok...or what do you guys think?
  21. Death and all of his friends?
  22. Time to assert yourself LOL Tell them you´d like to reserve the TV for the halftime so you can watch it in peace (hence no chatter from them). Then sit firmly on that couch with your notebook on your knees and type away *LOL*
  23. Hahaha I had not thought of this! good point! We shall see how awkward he will feel....lol
  24. As with anything if done with disrespect it should not be condoned. I can think of other examples of people "dressing up" to honour, not to ridicule. Intention is the key here...and that is really why I don't jump on the CA bandwagon, because they don't judge intention but simply skin colour or where you come from. I think we´ve had enough of that in our past, I don't need more of that in our present. Btw I did love Rihanna in PoC with all those arms. lol I have a great respect and love for hinduism (researching religion is a passion of mine) and honestly I did not find that disrespectful, but I can see why some might find it out of place, a bit like the Jesus references in Lady Gaga music videos...
