  1. Yeah I think innocent makes more sense but it's like I can't quite hear that exactly. Sometimes I wish we I don't know had official lyrics to the songs? Such a radical notion for Coldplay lol
  2. I agree! I love that last part even though the "cool" ending feels like you're hitting cold water after that fall off the cliff lol

Haha it's actually so nice to geek out about lyrics and the meanings behind even if it's a bit gossipy sometimes hehe I'm very happy I can share that with you and fellow geeky coldplayers here :))
  4. It's like a muscle to train. It takes time to develop. To be mindful throughout the day is tough. Back when I began I used to use post it or small notes I would put everywhere in the home and where I worked. That helped some. You can also try alarms on your phone to do small sessions throughout the day. Just a few minutes but repeated often. This can slowly get your brain trained to be mindful.
  5. Millions of miles from home, under the Californian sun Late night watching TV ______________
  6. I feel this could be on Chris Christmas wish list, if he has one! haha :)
  7. Lana del Rey "Honeymoon" is my favourite album of the year (along Coldplay). Super close second comes Noel Gallagher Chasing Yesterday
  8. Yeah the title is hehe But the song to me is very much about a couple kinda finding each other or being able to be with each other after ages or after a long struggle. But yeah it can be applied to a lot of situations I guess :)
  9. Enjoy your trip! Where are you going exactly? :)

Ok I dont want to sound like a stereotypical man (I may very well be haha), but I am at song 3 and I am already thinking I cant sit through a whole Adele concert *LOL* Its just too much of the same heartbreak-tears-heartbreak thing. I have always enjoyed her songs, but one at the time. haha I´d never seen a whole concert before, so now I know I dont think I could sit through this (willingly) LOL
  11. I mean hugging a person who is not physically here :)

That's very true. I don't think he was unaware of the problems though , but I think the breakup came as a surprise to him. Or that's what the lyrics anyway seem to indicate. As for being smarter well not sure smart plays a prominent part in love hehe I kinda found myself in a similar situation years ago, in a relationship that was going nowhere but I was too "dedicated" (or dependent? Men tend to be very dependent haha) perhaps to even consider a break up. The break up when it came was a total surprise to me. Years after I'm deeply thankful she had the courage to call it a day when I couldn't. Maybe it was similar for Chris dunno. Seems to me he had a much harder time moving on than she did?

Hmm they will air Adele Live in New York tonight at 10 PM PST on NBC. I think Im gonna watch it. She is phenomenal live but most of all I look forward to her "stand-up comedy" comments haha

Anyone else feeling that in these lines they came close to a critical comment on our current society? and you can say what is, or fight for it (close your mind or take a risk) you can say it’s mine and clench your fist or see each sunrise as a gift I kinda feel it mirrors a few common behaviours of ours. Sometimes we resign instead of fighting for whats right and we think a lot about "getting ours" or holding on to what we have out of fear for losing it, forgetting in the process the daily gifts we take for granted (sunrise)
  15. Ok I listened more closely and I seem to detect the intro, the birds, the angel in Hymn and Chris woo woo in Adventure, then of course the poem. To me it kinda gives me a sense of two people celebrating love together, (the angel´s voice and the man who loves her) surrounded by the peaceful chimes of the intro and then closing with the universal message of the poem. Also towards the very end I seem to hear a gentle waterfall?? Or water gently falling...an allusion to the angel "fountain of love"? :)
  16. I just love this so much: Hope has its proof your hand in mine Also when it goes "And now I always wanna feel this way..." it kinda reminds me of that song "Feeling good" hehe
  17. Stare into darkness, staring at doom You make my heart go boom, bo-boom boom Superhero, a masterpiece Been innocent but a sinner in me Am I the only one hearing "a saviour" instead of "innocent" there?
  18. Hey thats true :) I´d not thought about it :) Now you go and giving me ideas for more Coldplay songs for that special day haha

Ok now I am positive Fun is not about Gwyneth. Because of the first sentence "I know its over before she says". Contrast that with "And all along the fire below would rise And I wish you could have let me know What's really going on below". I think whoever Fun is about (ahem Jennifer *lol*), he kinda saw the break-up coming, while clearly Gwyneth´s breakup was a surprise. End of gossip-y analysis of the lyrics LOL
  20. Great Coldplay moments: When you´re hugging tight the ghost of that person who means the world to you, while you listen to Everglow.

I love the "still I see you celestial" part. It so ties in with Sky Full of Stars. I love all these small tie-ins to other albums throughout AHFOD. Another example is "we got to make our own key" in Birds (recalls Charlie Brown stolen key :) Oh forgot also the "out from the underground" in Birds, recalling Speed of Sound. :) It seems all pretty deliberate to me, perhaps an attempt to run a red thread through previous albums as Chris said it feels they all led up to this :)
  22. You know I kinda thought about your comment here. And I can say I dont think AHFOD is an album that necessarily can make or makes unhappy people happy. So I agree with you in that the feeling and tone is different than even MX (which was joyous but in another way). I dont think AHFOD is less genuine though, but I do think its something that I play when I am already happy and want to full on celebrate, whereas MX or even Viva I could also play when Im feeling down and need a lift. Probable exception could be Up&Up but even that is quite exuberant.
  23. Cool :) And the icons too similar to those on the Coldplay website
  24. Is it just me or do I read "pour on a symphony" on the lyric sheet? I thought it was "put on a symphony" but I like pour even more actually as it fits with the drinking metaphor. You guys also reading "pour" on your lyric booklet?
  25. I agree! They could have really gone a totally different way after/during X&Y, maybe even split up. I guess Phil helped them getting back on track, but yeah success and expectations can be so hard to handle. I also think that was a critical point for them and they just are in such a different place now, probably diametrically opposite. They also have found so much cohesion together as band members but I also think as friends that has made them fearless: as long as they are together, the band can handle anything. This is the feeling I get when I see/hear them in interviews now. I guess its all part of growing up too , they are men now, they were young lads then :)
