  1. My impression as a creative music person but also in general was that New York gives you this major boost of energy, like in that city you feel any project you might have you can get it done and put it all the hours you need. It kinda made me feel like a Duracell bunny haha Los Angeles to me has a much more relaxed feel, easy going, which I must admit aids creativity in that it gets you in that "dreamy" state of mind so conducive of songs and such. So I think they are both great cities for a project, but in different ways. On the practical side I also think LA must have a lot of good studios, producers and such, not sure how that compares to NY though. We actually have a an artist in Denmark who is quite alternative and unique and she not only records but lives in Berlin. I kinda associate that city with a certain type of artists, probably not suitable for everyone
  2. I dont like Jay Z or Beyonce music (except perhaps one or two tracks) , but I dont think the music necessarily always reflects the person in all his/her facets, but only some parts. In their private lives I am sure they are multifaceted people like we all are :) I dont know their music much so I cant comment any further :)
  3. Not crazy about the monkeys either but yeah I can't say I've ever liked Coldplay videos nearly as much as the music hehe Only a small handful I watch and re watch.
  4. I think Jay Z and Chris met and they just clicked on a personal level I guess? I mean its really no different than hooking up with a work colleague outside work and finding out you have good chemistry as friends :) Apparently Chris was quoted saying: Yes, it is hilarious [our friendship]. What's the Commondenominator? Well, underneath he probably feels a bit like me and I probably feel a bit like him." http://www.contactmusic.com/chris-martin/news/chris-martins-funny-friendship-with-jayz_1266385
  5. Oh expecting lots of Star Wars ratings to pop up hehe Hopefully mine later today :)
  6. Waking up to a great Christmas movie: Family Man. Making arrangements to see Star Wars. :) Good morning folks!
  7. My Christmas playlist :)

R2D2! Dr Pepper or root beer?
  9. Wow didnt take long for a thread like this to appear LOL Ok personally if they put this dream box up I am gonna go in there and request Green Eyes hands down, however for this thread as we are aiming for a song never played or something my vote goes then to Up with the Birds. (not sure if it has been played but even so i dont think very often!)
  10. Yes "The Christmas force is strong with me" haha And yay for Christmas break! Those are always a time to look forward to. And what are some of your favourite Christmas movies? (and to anyone else who wanna share?) :)
  11. Oh and about Polar Express I always loved the song from it :)
  12. Ah yes Northern would be colder I am sure..here I think its still warm, not as it was but surely twice as warm as in Denmark haha I am in Orange County :) And awww I know about not being able to watch a movie when you really wanna watch it...see my post above: I had the opposite experience this time hehe I can imagine you have all sorts of pay per view though in the US right? Like rentals and whatnot. I actually dont have a TV back home (only a TV screen for my home movies), but I am enjoying the christmas movies on ABC Family yes :)
  13. Hey cool! I am away from home so away from my Blu-ray movie library too. And today I was thinking oh I´d love to see the Polar Express: that´d put me even deeper in the Christmas mood, oh I miss my blu-ray...and then boom its on the telly! haha I love when that happens :)
  14. I fold. LOL Curious to hear which one it is, but very little chance I´d be able to guess it.
  15. Ill check out the version you mentioned :) And colder here? I think its so warm! haha amazing to think its usually warmer...wow haha The Christmas feeling is growing in me...slowly but I am feeding the little flame haha :) For anyone on the US west coast, "Polar Express" now on ABC Family. Awesome Christmas movie!! All abooooooard :)
  16. I took a short look at the list and quickly concluded this is hopeless haha Parachutes is a wonderful album (actually I am off to listening to it again LOL). The two albums have such different moods I think it´d be unfair of me to even put them against each other. But good thread for anyone who can :)
  17. I dont know man...I´ve been here a month and half and I am pretty much ready to move at the very least for the sun haha :) Actually our local band Saybia in Denmark have recorded for the first time in LA and their album is being hailed as a return to form, so not sure where the studio is located has much to do with the quality of the music though personally I think their favourite studio must always be the London one :)
  18. You know what...I´ve practically been working 80% of the time for weeks and being in a sunny place on top of it all I was wondering when I was ever gonna feel some Christmas spirit. And enters your post with one of my absolutely favourite Christmas songs! It has such a sacredness and joy to it it never fails to put me right in the magic of Christmas, so thank you so much! :) P.s. Do you have a favourite rendition of this song? I have a few but one of my favourites is Lavigne + Chantal, love the duet :)

I´ve never given a Coldplay gift as far as I remember. I´ve received one: Ghost Stories deluxe edition.

Well I think they write terrific tunes, but what really sets them apart ultimately to me is that I feel they are my homies :) I really relate to how they are, the kind of people I see them to be through interviews, music, etc, very much in sync with how I am. Its four guys I can imagine having as my buddies if I´d meet them. Most of all they seem to write my life! Almost each great significant moment in my life is associated to one of their songs. And its such a gift and a blessing to me to have their music to walk me through and accompany my crazy journey on this earth :)
  21. Wow ok I must say the best description of the two albums I´ve heard so far. Will said it wonderfully: "They were always going to be together: the breathing in and then the breathing out"
  22. I won't be there for this one, even though its in my own country. But you guys have a blast! Train those uuuh uuuh so you get them as loud as you can haha :)
  23. LOL Funny post! Sounds like a bad habit hard to kick haha
  24. Yes I really love GS! Its like an atmospheric gem to me hehe And I do like how it portrays a full journey ending in the splendid Fly On. And I like how even in such a specific mood album they still wanted/managed to fit in different vibes from the sort of funky Magic to the experimental beauty that is Midnight to the exuberant ASFOS and the etheric O. I mean even in this album such variety :)
  25. GS is certainly the antithesis to AHFOD hehe Super sad, but very cathartic for certain particular moments, but I agree that AHFOD has a wider application to various moods :). I am curious to hear what you dont particularly like in "Another´s arms"? I think Jonny does a marvellous melody throughout a good part of it and its one of the most haunting songs on the album imo.
