  1. You´re unto something here! Yes those are the Pleiades, well done. Good guess on the song too, but nope. Dig deeper :P
  2. I kinda interpreted it as "Yeah those old boring songs we made which we have hated for years now actually look not so bad as they´ve all led us to AHFOD, so maybe we´ll play them live again" hehe
  3. Ay brother...I know how it feels :/ *bro hug*
  4. Not a bad guess, but I would have posted a pic of an apple for that song LOL Unleash the inner Sherlock haha
  5. Nope. that would have been easy haha I said it could be a bit (a lot? LOL) geeky :P
  6. Meh doesn't need to be high for me either. A degree over and I am texting girlfriends asking for hugs LOL Fever is a strange psychotropic drug for this guy´s brain haha Reduces me to mush *LOL* I usually recommend hours of films to get through it haha
  7. Nice interview with lots of interesting tidbits. I especially liked Guy confirming the exuberance in the music is a genuine reflection of Chris´s exuberance hehe And yay to the "happy ship". And I´ve never seen Coldplay as trying to invent something radically new so it kinda makes sense with how they feel about modern music. I would beg to differ about Coldplay not rocking though: they sure have rocked for more than 10 minutes hehe No way they are done as a band. Chris needs to write to maintain his sanity :) And music is their life. Though yeah I can totally see how AHFOD is the end of a journey and that they want to stay and celebrate this phase for a while
  8. Ok...I´ll try this, maybe a tad too geeky or maybe it will be easy. Who knows haha
  9. I like how Will always pulls the "psychopathic" face haha
  10. Argh! :/ I cant stand fevers. I end up just complaining and moaning...my usually quite strong mind turns into jello LOL I swear there is something to that man´s fever haha Get well soon! Rest and liquids like they say.
  11. I am glad its to be continued...haha :) Nice :)
  12. ^^ Thanks for much for that video! Love how Chris gestures the "miles up" and "wings" hehe It´s such a catchy infectious song! And the "shoot across the sky" part gets me so drunk and high ! haha
  13. Huge fan of Sherlock here too. I am reading a Sherlockian novel at the moment, so far so good! "The Grimswell curse"
  14. Finished Cormoran Strike #3 novel: excellent as always! Thinking perhaps "October List" or the new John Grisham or an Agatha Christie one :) Now evaluating what to read next. Just saw B&N has a 25% off coupon by the way! Valid only for a few days :)
  15. I agree, I think it will pick up later on. Actually I just noticed that now B&N website have updated their vinyl section online with a big ad about Coldplay. On and around the release date there was nothing except a big photo of Adele :) Hmm an album can pick up sales way after the first single though. Also I am not sure that in the digital era we are in the first single is so important in terms of sales, as you can just download that and not necessarily the whole album. Agreed on the release so close to Adele! But I guess then they must not care much about chart positions , more about long term sales?
  16. You´re bloated haha Most likely :) Hope its better today hehe
  17. Ah thanks! :) Sorry I must have missed the lounge thread entirely.
  18. LOL to the first! I dont know others but the music I listen to definitely reflects how I feel in a particular moment and generally it does reflect all the aspects of me really :) Like I never feel super angry or aggressive so I dont listen to metal. (not saying metal is only for super angry people haha but its that association/feeling it gives me when I listen to it). And I must say I almost never listen to melancholic songs now, except if I am sad, which , luckily, happens not so often. I agree with you on projections/hopes for LP8! I also expect/would like a totally different album. I like them changing too :)
  19. + Love the melody and the "waltz-like" rhythm. Haunting vibe. - Lyrics are bit too morbid hehe also I think its slightly too long. Lhuna
  20. Did we actually get only ONE B-side from Mylo? Moving to Mars? I hope I remember incorrectly. Ghost Stories had the two extra songs, but still...I miss several b-sides per album :/
  21. Hmm maybe you mean how they said they like to write songs that can translate well in their live shows perhaps? I dont remember a quote about "moving people en masse", but then again I am sure Ive not read all Coldplay quotes ever either hehe I honestly think they want to write the kind of tunes they themselves enjoy most! And its as simple as that I think. I remember when I first started writing songs, they all sounded like Oasis, haha cuz its what I loved at the time. I wanted to write the kinda tunes that moved me/excited me. But I would say as a songwriter personally I think what you write is also very much decided by whatever tunes come to you from above. On that I totally agree with Chris when he says the Universe sends him tunes hehe
  22. Noel hates it, but oh man I love that album! haha
  23. *end of your own personal dream* LOL And 2020? I hope a bit sooner :)
  24. Oh you made me feel like one of the "cool kids". thanks LOL And I dont know you, but as a band I would never want to release as first single a song featuring someone else haha I´d probably go for the song where all members of band are most prominent. I think Adventure fits the bill. Also an interesting thing...I noticed they often tend to choose as first singles songs where Jonny riff particularly shines *LOL* (Every teardrop, Violet Hill, Adventure)
  25. I can kinda see what you mean here. But I would say they could be seen as following in others footpaths from the very beginning (Radiohead for example). I dont think they care about the latest trends, more like they want to explore all the genres they like and incorporate it in their music. I´d say Coldplay have a distinct formula and sound no one else has, but in terms of inventing something totally new I dont think anyone can say they´ve ever done that. Maybe they have it in them to do something revolutionary musically, maybe not, also depends if its at all something they are interested in. As far as I could understand I think they (or at least Chris) are more focused in writing the best tunes, not necessarily the most original ones though.
